Customer Review: Really good footrest, really poor heater

My feet are always cold at my office but a regular space heater tended to produce a lot of heat for my upper body but not as much focused heat on my feet. So I got this. I knew that when I was getting this that the amount of heat would be low compared to a regular space heater. You definitely wouldn't put your feet directly on a regular space heater. However even knowing that, I've been disappointed after about 1 week of use.
Pros: It's very comfortable to put your feet on. I take my shoes off and put my sock covered feet on the unit and the passive massaging feels great. It's a good footrest regardless.
Cons: The amount of heat really is poor. I expected on a high setting to have toasty feet and slightly warmed ankles with some other ambient heat. Instead the bottom of my feet are moderately warm, but since I took my shoes off to put them on this device, the tops of my feet actually get colder. No ambient heat at all. On the low setting, it's worthless as far as a heater goes.
The other con is that it takes quite a while for the heater to even get a moderate amount of heat. Meanwhile the fan is blowing on your feet. This means that you get colder unless you wait quite some time for the heat to pick up.
Final Thoughts: Maybe my unit is just a little worse than others, but I was pretty disappointed. I may try and send this one back and try my luck with another one, but so far I couldn't recommend this as more than a really fancy footrest.
