Tools and Hardware Reviews of Vornado EH1-0039-06 225-Watt SoleAire Foot Rest and Personal Space HeaterCustomer Review: Sturdy little space heater Summary: 4 Stars
I work in a small office with the worst climate control; parts of the office will easily be freezing while others are incredibly hot. Unfortunately, I sit in an area that is always cold. I was looking for a compact, low-powered heater to help in my area and after much searching, I decided on this product.
At first I had reservations about the Vornado Soleaire because I didn't want a footrest...I wanted a heater, but since I wasn't able to find anything else that met my needs, I thought I'd give it a shot. I'm glad I did. The Soleaire provides a nice, low-powered heat right underneath my desk that keeps me warm, without making other areas of the office uncomfortable. In fact, most people don't even know I have it on underneath my desk.
It's relatively quiet and with all the hustle and bustle doing on the in the office you barely notice it (although it is noticeable when I'm the only one in the office, but I don't mind).
The biggest complaint I have is that the on/off switch and heat controls aren't as convenient as I'd like. It'd be great if you could turn it on/off easily with you foot instead of having to crawl under your desk to look. I've also noticed a few times that I've accidentally hit the heat switch with my foot and the air came out cold.
Overall, I think this is a great product for anything needing temperature control over their personal space.
Customer Review: Great heater and Great Manufacturer Customer Service Summary: 5 Stars
This is a wonderful little heater that I bought form an Amazon store (Bostic Outfitters). I recently moved to a home office situation and my new office is in the basement of our home in Minneapolis. Needless to say the floors are cold and even with slippers on, the cold radiates up my legs and makes my feet cold and my knees stiff. I looked at several personal heaters for my situation and liked the design of the "Vornado EH1-0039-06 225-Watt SoleAire Foot Rest and Personal Space Heater". When it arrived, the "High" heat setting did not function (just blew cold air on my feet, not what I was looking for). I contacted Vornado via their 800 number and told them the problem. They only asked for the serial number of the device, and are shipping me a replacement at no charge with only a 5 minute phone call. When asked what I should do with the defective unit, I was told to "cut the cord and dispose of it properly". That is great customer service! I will use the defective unit on the "Low" heat setting until the replacement comes, then I will be set! the Vornado representative said that they wanted me to be delighted with their products and since the initial product was not performing up to specifications, they would rather send me a new on and dispense with any further inconvenience in getting a working product. I will be happy to buy more products from Vornado and recommend them as well.
Customer Review: Time for toasty toes Summary: 4 Stars
Sitting on my cold feet was doing nothing for my circulation or my posture. My husband gave me this heated footrest for a birthday present and it's one of the best gifts I've gotten (well, except for the kitten that one year) to keep my feet warm.
The angled footrest insures good posture at your desk, which also helps with back and body fatigue. The nubby, bumpy surface helps with a passive massage and I think may even help with circulation.
The heater doesn't get precisely hot even on the warmest temps, but used while wearing socks, it does keep my feet warm and comfortable even on the coldest days.
One feature I really like is the 4 hour safety shut-off. No worries about whether I turned the heater off or not and that makes me feel better about using it.
One thing about Vornado products overall is that they last. We have fans still in use that we purchased 10 years ago. A space heater from last year is still giving good service when another more powerful model from another manufacturer has not held up. Vornado does not make throw-away products. Bless them for that in this economy!

Customer Review: I love this heater!!! Summary: 5 Stars
I bought my Vornado heater about 2 years ago and absolutely love it. I would buy another if the one I have wore out. My feet are almost always cold in the winter and it seems even worse when I'm sitting at a desk. This heater has a quiet, slow fan which keeps my feet and lower legs nice and warm. In my opinion, it is not meant to be a room heater so those who think it doesn't have a strong enough blower, I think it's just meant to keep your feet and lower legs warm. When I first received mine it had a bad smell. That went away after a few hours of use and never returned. If you don't like the smell, run it out in your garage for a few hours until the smell goes away. Trust me...once the smell is gone, it doesn't come back. Using this heater allows me to keep the temperature in the house a little lower in the winter because when my feet feel warm, the rest of my body feels warmer too. Other than people getting a defective heater, I can't believe that anyone would give this heater a bad review. I usually don't write reviews, but I like this product so much, I thought I'd write one.
If you have cold feet in the winter and sit at a desk alot, you'll love this product!
Customer Review: Great foot heater Summary: 4 Stars
I have grown to love this foot heater.
I've read other people's reviews complaining of weak heating from this device, and I agree in that this heater is not strong enough to heat through thick shoes. Instead, I use it at home, and it works great (and gentle enough) in warming bare or socked feet. It even works in warming through a pair of thin slippers. It's very sturdy. No moving parts to break down on you. The foot rest is very comfortable- good incline and comfortable bumps for passive foot massage. Here is the great part!-- all controls are easily manipulated by your foot. Thus, no need to crawl around under your desk to turn on/off or to change the heat setting. It actually has three setting choices: high heat, low heat and fan (too cool feet on a hot day). It also has a safety 4hr auto shutoff- you can resume heating if you want to use it longer than 4hrs, which I sometimes do :-)
One con: On initial use, a plastic burning odor did develop. However after continued usage it has completely disappeared. I think it took several weeks of enduring that odor...but it's so worth it now.
