Tools and Hardware Reviews of Vornado EH1-0039-06 225-Watt SoleAire Foot Rest and Personal Space HeaterCustomer Review: Not as good as its predecessor Summary: 3 Stars
I used a Vornado footrest/heater a dozen years ago that looks a lot like the one in the current picture. However, the old one was better -- a bit bigger, with surface balls that rolled, for extra sole stimulation. The balls on the EH-0039-06 are really just immovable molded plastic nubs. The newer heater is also noisier. I feel forced to put some music on to drown out the fan noise. Heat isn't particularly toasty but the unit does keep your stockinged feet warm. If you're wearing shoes with thick soles, the warming effect from the Vornado is negligible. Construction seems so-so, it's very light and gives off the impression that it's cheaply made. The old one lasted a decade. I have my doubts about the longevity of the newer model.
Customer Review: Vornado Personal Space Heater Summary: 3 Stars
This is a great product!! It works especially well under my desk at work. I live in Michigan and work in an old, drafty school building. When the winter winds howl it is VERY cold in my office. This space heater is just right for freezing cold, blustery winter days. The reason I didn't give it 5 stars is that it doesn't get really, really warm. I previously had a similar type of under-desk heater, which died last winter. This current model is not as powerful as the old model. It is still nice and toasty warm, but on days when the wind-chill is below zero it has to work harder and longer to keep the warmth flowing. HOWEVER, I would be very, very uncomfortable without it. I'm very happy with this item.
Customer Review: Probably one of the better ones out there Summary: 4 Stars
After all of the mixed reviews for this and other footrests, I wasn't sure if I was going to like this footrest or not. Overall, I do. After a few weeks it is still a bit stinky with the plastic odor when the heat is on, but it is comfortable to use and the heat does work. Nubs don't really count as massage but the controls really are foot-operable. The fan does make noise but I haven't had anyone mention it when I have been on the phone.
So, it isn't perfect but I doubt any of them are. It is a high footrest which is good for my petite self and the heat does work without burning you. I'm glad I bought it.
Customer Review: Ahhh! My SoleAire came just in time for the arctic blast. Summary: 5 Stars
This is my favorite heater ever. Using my iPhone noise level meter, it reads between 57-59 db when the unit is on. Hence, it is whisper quiet. The bumps on the footrest actually make my feet feel good. The heater setting on High is toasty, while on Low is also adequate. The fan-only mode would be great during summertime. The smell that others reported is bearable and is slowly going away with each day of use. The only negative is that one of the rubber feet came off. This can be fixed easily with some adhesive. Since I got it for 40% less than regular price, this makes it even greater. Highly recommend it.
Customer Review: Exactly what I was looking for! Summary: 5 Stars
This is perfect for my needs--and my doctor recommended it for me. I needed to be warmer in my chilly office space due to a medical condition, and this keeps my feet warm and the heat is trapped under my desk. It is not too much heat, and the noise has not been noticed by my co-workers. There is a slight smell when first turned on, which dissipates quickly. That was only noticed when used the first few times. The best part is that it a "foot rest", so those of us that are not allowed a space heater at work are not as likely to get caught!
