Customer Review: Nice Fan but not 5 star worthy

I really liked the concept of this fan with the soft blades and all, but after very little use the fan will not stay in position. It's designed with a simple thick wire stand and the housing attaches to the wire and also performs as a hinge. This hinge has loosened in just a couple hours of use and now the fan flops down and the blades hit the wire thus stoping the fan and probably hurting the motor. There is no way to tighten the hinge that I can tell. I haven't given up yet because I do like the fan byt it may be going back. Maybe I should of rated it 3 stars.Customer Review: Pretty darn good!

I must admit that I purchased this fan because I thought it looked cool (and it does.) This replaced a small box style desk fan. Does this fan pump out a trememdous amount of air? No. But it is certainly adequite for a desk. Anything more and you can kiss you papers good-by. It's also very quiet, perfect if you talk on the phone much.
I think that most people who are looking for a nice personal desk fan will find this fits the bill. If you are looking for something that will really put out the air, then be prepared to put up with more noise.

At five months it no longer turns on at all. Took it apart as switch felt ok as did the motor when spun by hand. Wiring intact, no burned spots, switch functional. Took switch apart, no loss of contact, wires intact. Motor doesn't work, no idea why. Worked one day, doesn't work the next. In the garbage it goes. Left in one place, never abused, always worked but less than six months of very intermittent use? Yep, realllll high quality there guys. Won't buy another Vornado product again, should've trusted the other reviews.Customer Review: Great little fan - I ordered another!

This fan looks nice, is quiet, and price is pretty good. I ordered one for my desk at the office since the company is getting cheap and raising the a/c temp in the building. It's now mid to upper '70s in the office.
Low speed is fine for close quarters - within a couple feet of the fan, and the high speed really moves air for such a small fan and soft nylon blades.
After checking this one out, I gave that one to my wife for her office and ordered a second one for me.
Highly recommended.

It's perfect for a small, quiet fan that move enough air to provide personal comfort and not be annoying. It won't blow papers around on your desk, nor be distracting during conversations either in person or on the phone. They're the only fans that we've tried that won't keep my wife awake on high temp nights at home.
I've purchase 4 so far. The only negative that I've experienced with them is that the fan blades tend to slip off if the fan is pointed downwards. They're easy to put back on.
