We had just bought two new kittens, but our inner city apartment gets so hot at times, we realized we needed to find a solution to allow us to open the windows. Many stores sell cheap plastic adjustable screens that look very flimsy. These screens, while very inexpensive (I bought them for around $5 each), are made of solid wood, metal, and screen, and are very well constructed. The wood isn't the most attractive, but it would be very easy to paint to match any walls, so I guess that's a plus (we just don't have any paint!). They are very sturdy. Our cats have grown up to be about 10 pounds each, and they love to sit right up against the screens to get fresh air. Never once have they bent or broke, and the cats haven't been able to do anything to damage them. Excellent product.
