Obviously, each one of these lamps is unique. Shape, size, color. The one I got was a little bigger and heavier than expected, but that was a bonus in my opinion. On the other hand, some reviews here said the light itself was very dim and orange. Mine is surprisingly bright (I haven't figured out how to open it yet, but there's no way that is only a 15 watt bulb), and the color is only slightly warmer than your standard incandescent bulb. Reminds me of the "warm pink" bulbs that used to be available, but are harder to find today. Still - it is a very natural looking piece of art, that lights up. Adds a touch of character to any space. I'm not big on Feng Shui, I just move things around until they feel right. Not sure I've found the right place for this one yet, but I will eventually. I think having a pair of these (or smaller ones) could add a nice look to a wall, mantle or bookcase. This lamp was a Christmas gift for my daughter and looks very much like the picture (obviously they are all unique). The color is beautiful when the lamp is on. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because the packaging is bad. With only one very small piece of flattened bubble wrap, the lamp barely fit inside the unpadded cardboard box. This was thrown with the Amazon signature "one plastic bubble" into a much bigger box and then shipped that way. The result was crushed salt all over the top of the lamp (the crushed areas turn white while the rest of the lamp is a beautiful pinkish color). Luckily, I knew that you can wet the affected areas down and smooth away the crushed parts. Wait for it to dry and then repeat on any areas you missed. It's just annoying that a little more effort on packing could have saved a decent amount of trouble a few days before Christmas.Customer Review: good deal

perfect gift. Creates romantic atmosphere, healthy, pretty. i bought it as a gift for my husb. He wanted it for so long,now he got it and he is happy.
The quality is good. I mean - what would you expect from a piece of natural salt? It's a little bit chalky on the surface, but as soon as the outer layer comes to its shape and small crumbs are removed, it does not crumble.
the wooden coaster is fair. You hardly can spot it - perfect fit to the shape of the salt block.
The product is pretty much as described.
the only thing is that the bulb is so tiny little... it does not create any significant light, but gives nice and soft radiance. We leave it on all night and it does not disturb our sleep.
The color of the lamp is exactly as shown on the picture - bright orange to terracotta.

This lamp is quite beautiful. Provides a soft ambient glow that definitely warms the atmosphere in a room, if not the temperature. My only gripe is that it doesn't seem to give off as many ions as the basket-chunk variety of lamp. I definitely notice a difference with those; however with this single-piece lamp, it is hardly noticeable. I think this might be because the light bulb is entirely enclosed within this single-piece lamp and so it doesn't allow the ions to escape (just my theory anyway). I almost thought about drilling a hole in it to see if that would have any noticeable effect in dispersing more ions. Heh, but this thing is just too pretty to be defacing. I'm pretty sure there is SOME ion dispersal, so I'm happy to keep this single-piece lamp for its beauty, which make up for its less than optimal ion effect.Customer Review: Great product, good price and very cool looking

I saw a lamp like this at a friend's house and really wanted one. I was happy to find it at a good price at Amazon (cheaper than what my friend paid!), and when it arrived it was exactly what I wanted. This lamp looks great and casts a really nice, subtle glowing orange-ish light when it is on. It is a very low level light, and I have fallen asleep with it on a few times (it is not so bright that it keeps you awake). The salt looks great and is salty (I tasted it). It was a little flaky when I first got it out of the package but I brushed it off with my fingers over the sink and no flaking since then. It is a good heavy piece and would go well in a bedroom or kid's room. It was packed well and arrived safe and sound.
