Tools and Hardware Reviews of WORX TriVac WG500 12 amp All-in-One Electric Blower/Mulcher/VacuumCustomer Review: To buy or not to buy and is it worth the money? Summary: 3 Stars
I was tempted to post a video review on this item like I did with a pole saw I bought, but you've probably seen enough commercials and saw their videos. So I'll just give you the nitty-gritty from my viewpoint. Using the point system from 1= it sucks to 10=the greatest with notes on the bottom.

Assembly was easy enough. I've read complaints of people having a hard time and I concur if you try to use one hand, I assembled it using a "2-hand Choke Maneuver" and it worked fine. I gave it a 6 because if I had to tighten the choke to get it on there then there's a little bit of effort there. Clean up is pretty straight forward...wipe down and spray the bag with a garden hose or just beat it like a carpet rug. Ease of handling is better for right handers, maybe it was the cord placement but when I switched to the left it felt a lot more cumbersome. Instead of carrying a bag of marshmellows, it felt like I was hauling a load of dirty laundry. Durability wise it seems to performed up to the task with difference in suction or blowing power through the hour+ that I used it, of course I didn't do the drop test like they did on the "Infomercials". If you use something lower than 16gauge electrical connector you might run into a slight headache. If you're not sure what I mean, zoom in on the electrical connection for this Trivac and picture that you have to "bend" the line and loop it into the wire holder. It was a pretty tight squeeze and I'm not quite sure if I had a lower gauge wire that I would have been able to use the wire holder.
The bag itself, I thought that the company could have done a better job on constructing it. A simple enough job of "reinforcing" the connections at the point of handles. By the looks of this, and I just bought mine... I would estimate that with heavy use it would survive no more that maybe 1 or 2 seasons. But if your needs a minor and light, then it could last at least 4 seasons or more. Noise level itself, is about the same for any other VAC/Blower... pretty darn loud. Get those earplugs, boys!!!!! Can't get around that, whatever blows or sucks is going to produce sound! Weight itself is about average since this is a combo Vac/Blower. Since it seems like the outer body is of hard plastic, I wouldn't try to drop it on concrete just to put it to the test.
The mulcher worked pretty good, when I emptied the bag, I did not find any big uncut items and I didn't see any damage on the blades. The blower itself it pretty good, I have a B & D standalone blower and this TRIVAC worked just as well.
To be fair, I have not tried the other blower/mulcher combos out there from Black and Decker, Torro, Earthwise, Ryobi, Troy, etc... overall, if you don't mind dragging around an umbilical cord, this product is a good choice. The last four ratings above are 8 simply because instead of buying two separate products like a blower and a mulcher, just get one, whether it's this product or another brand. Since they cost from $40-$220, it's just a matter of preference as I don't know if the other brands have come with a bag or not. I myself, if I can use this particular one for at least two seasons, then it would be worth my money.
Now for the best uses for this one after trying it out? Well, I surely would not recommend you use it for your whole back yard!!!!! That's just plain tiring. Use a mower that can mulch with a grass collector, that's the best for a large area. For small areas, this type works fairly well. It picked up the leaves with no problems, I will say that when I was picking up leaves over my wife's garden (she had those red lava rocks on top) I was real hesitant. I did not have the tip touch the ground, I had it hovered about 2-3 inches above and it had enough power to suck up the leaves. I sure didn't want to chance it just to see if the mulcher will break up the lava rocks. But if you want to go for it... Post it here and let us know if it withstood the "Hard Candy Test". I just bought mine so I'm not crazy!!!
This TRIVAC is best used when you mulch your grass and you've got big clumps left on the grass to pick up or around the flower beds and little trash around the house. It's better to use this to pick up small amounts of leaves around the bushes, corners, in between the cracks and little stuff that gets in between the stepping stones than getting down on your knees or using a rake. For this $72 WORX's TRIVAC... It's okay for now...If it still works in 2years, then I'll repost/update and let y'all know if it's worth the money. :-)
Have a nice day!!!!!
