Customer Review: Noisier than I thought it would be

Had some difficulty getting the pieces apart. there were not clear directions and I did worry that I hadn't done something right or that I'd move the sealed collar. It just wasn't clear that it would pull right out if carefully applying pressure. Once that was done it was pretty straightforward installing. I suppose because it is on a stainless steel sink that it makes quite a bit of noise despite the dampening effect of the collar\. It works well and rather than remove the plug and attempt to hardwire the number 12 supply line I added a female plug to the supply line and plugged the unit in under the sink. the supply line is operated by a switch on the counter. Its a pretty heavy item to lift and secure but it looks pretty good. I still have to tighten up the dishwasher line which has hose clamps and a slight tendency to leak, but that was necessary on the old unit from time to time.Customer Review: Garbage Disposal

This is another winner! It was easy to install and came with everything needed. I replaced our old one the rusted out. my experience has been they will last about 5-8 years, and I didn't want to have to ever do it again. Reading up on the Waste King 9980 Legend Series 1 HP and upon inspecting it, I think this one will be here even after I am long gone. Stainless interior eliminates the rust through that I have experienced in the past. It is powerful yet quiet. The only small negative is the opening to put things into it is a little smaller than in our old disposal. I assume it is to lessen the risk of a person putting their hand down inside it. I also assume that is the case with all new disposal systems, so that is understandable. Anyway, I give this two thumbs up and a fair price too.Customer Review: Fantastic waste disposal

I purchased this waste disposal to replace a Badger 1 disposal installed by the builder of my home. I researched disposals rather extensively. The Waste King disposal was sent to me rather quickly. It installed very easily. What took the longest was removing the old disposal. Once the old one was removed, I installed the Waste King in about 20 to 25 minutes. Now, you have to understand that my wife is extremely tough on the disposal. She has clogged the drain more times than I can count by putting so much stuff down the disposal. Well, we have had the Waste King for about two months. It has been used through Thanksgiving and Christmas. She has not clogged the drain once! This dispsal is a beast! We love it. This Waste King disposal arrived in a flash--- excellent order fulfillment! My key issue in satisfaction is operation and longevity. Disposer seems to work fine, but have had it in operation for only about two weeks. Expect it to last *at least* 5+ years. It appeared to be easy to install, but mine was done by a pro. Downside? I find the unit to be rather loud when it's operating. Have not seen db stats for disposer units. If noisiness is an issue, consumers won't discover it until after unit is purchased and installed--- true for everything from auto tires to garbage disposers. I have been very pleased with the performance of my Waste King 9980. It replaced a different manufacturer's disposer which had lasted several years and stopped working. The Waste King has been used for turkey bones (the entire bird carcass) and egg shells (a prior problem item). The only thing that I have not tried are corn silk and shucks. The installation was straight forward. I did change the electrical hookup to a plug feature to match up with the Waste King (no problem here) and everything else went as expected. I have no problems in trying anything in the disposer and it handles everything with no difficulty. The shipment from the vendor was quick and all the instructions came with the disposer.
