Without repeating the reviews below, I would like to emphasize that the installation of this product is simple. The big challenge is to have a grouded recepticle under the sink. I was able to go to Lowe's and buy the recepticle parts (box, plug, cover) for $8 and it took me about an hour to complete the project.
The disposal is quiet and powerful compared to the 1/3 hp model that it replaced. The product shipped in 5 business days to Florida.
Would recommend the Waste King L2600 for those who have simple disposal needs and no handyman talent.

I bought this unit to replace a leaking InSinkErator Badger that was only about 5 years old. Even though it took me most of the morning to remove the InSinkErator and and replace it with the Waste King L-2600 most of my time was spent removing the InSinkErator - it took me less then one hour to install the Waste King unit.
We have been using it now for 3 months since I installed it and it not as loud as the InSinkErator Badger unit and I have not had one complaint. We are very satisfied with this model and especially appreciate a good unit at a great value.

I was looking for a good quality, inexpensive disposal. I had an Insinkerator 444, which was supposed to be powerful and quiet. It was neither and brokie after 5 years of extremely light use.
I purchased the Waste King L-2600 from Amazon as it is $40 less that buying the same unit retail from Best Buy.
I would say the unit was exactly as described. Easy to install, powerful, and very quiet.
I think this unit is more than enough for two people. Large families may want a bigger unit.
Shipping was free and fast from Amazon.
I am very satisfied!

I bought this disposal after reading all the good reviews on Amazon. When I received the item and took it out of the box I noticed that the plastic cover around the unit was bent. I installed it and turned on the water only to find water coming out the bottom of the unit just like the Badger 5 that I replaced. Apparently this unit was damaged so I had to go out and buy another Badger 5 from Home Depot that night. One thing that the Badger has that the Waste King doesn't is the ability to manually unjam it buy using the wrench that comes with the Badger.Customer Review: Great value

This disposal is easy to install and much more quiet than the 1/2 HP Insinkerator it replaced (Iv'e installed several GE and Insinkerator disposals in apartments over the years). Excellent value for the mid-priced range garbage disposals.
Only had it a month but seems to handle normal use just fine.
One quick note... as with any installation make you have good firm contact with the underside of the sink. If your replacing an old disposal, scrape and clean the underside of the sink so you have a smooth surface to make contact with.
