Just wanted to say so far I am very impressed with my disposer (Waste King 2600).
I must admit I had never heard of this company and bought with a great deal of skepticism.
But after seeing hundreds and reading several reviews online decided to give it a try, and so far dont regret that decision.
Instalation was very easy and straight forward. The unit is quieter than the Badgers I have had, including the one this Waste King replaced and seems to have adequate power. It sounds more like a muffled blender than a disposal.
The company has an installation video, and yes it was pretty much that easy to install. It took longer to gather the few tools i needed and clean up than to install the unit.

We have had the unit in use for several weeks now and are very very pleased with its performance and lack of excessive noise.

Customer Review: Replacement of a Badger 5 - great unit

I bought this to replace a leaking Badger 5. Despite knowing it would be a direct fit, I could not get myself to buy another Badger due to its quality issues, and the InSinkerator Evolution price felt excessive ... so I felt a bit stuck.
I continued to browse and found this product, competitively priced, well rated and with a long warranty. Thanks to other helpful reviewers, I bought the 8$ adapter kit in order to avoid having to remove the EZ sink attachment.
Installation was a breeze, it took me about 30-45mn and I am a complete novice plumber, the only issue I ran into is having to shave off a bit one pipe as the Waste King disposal hole was sitting a bit lower than the Badger one, possibly due to the adapter adding length.
The unit is quieter than the Badger, and seems to run smooth. Too early to say how durable it will prove to be, but as a replacement option, this feels like the best deal on the market. Recommended!

While there are bigger and more powerful garbage disposals available, I had heard from several sources that 1/2 horsepower would be plenty...and it seems to be just fine. The Waste King came with its own cord attached (many others do not!)and my plumber installed it easily. One reason I selected the L-2600 is that it doesn't take up too much space under the sink, leaving lots of room for my cleaning supplies. It runs quietly, seems efficient and recently ground up a lemon rind without a problem. There may be quieter models available, but this one is much less noisy than the old one; I usually run it for 30 seconds once or twice a day. Another reason I picked this brand is that it has a non-rusting grinding chamber (nylon with fiberglass). Our old In-Sink-Erator had a galvanized chamber that had turned to solid rust and was difficult to clean. I did a lot of research before buying, and I feel I got a great machine for an excellent price.Customer Review: Major step up from Insinkerator

If all you've ever used is the Insinkerator Badger disposals that come pretty standard with most kitchens, you'll be blown away by how much better the Waste King is. And with the discounted price on Amazon, it's even cheaper.
The motor is more powerful, it's much quieter, and it will chop up stuff the Badger can't handle. I love that the little rubber flappy thing is removable for easy cleaning.
Installation is quick and easy, but you have to pay attention to the directions. My husband misread them the first time, and he spent over an hour fiddling with the "Easy Mount." He was about to give up entirely, before he read the directions again and figured out what he was doing wrong. After that, it took all of 2 minutes to install. Now that it's in, we use this disposer MUCH more than we ever used our old one... which means we throw fewer things in the garbage can, and our kitchen smells much better.

When we had our house built 10 years ago, the builder installed a "Pulverator" brand disposer which we found to be excellent - quiet, smooth, reliable and strong, much better than the Insinkerators we had in our previous house (noisy, always jamming and burned out motor). Last week we had new granite kitchen installed with new SS sinks, we decided to get a new waste disposer rather than re-use the 10 year old one, even though it was still perfectly good. Because of the good reviews, I ordered this Waste King 2600 from Amazon at a great price. Then I discovered it was almost exactly the same as our 10 year old Pulverator except has a newer style cover. Otherwise all the parts look identical. This made me quite happy, since I thought very highly of the old disposer. The Waste King was very easy to install and runs perfectly just like the old one ran for 10 years. When you have a good design, stick with it! Very happy.
