It was easy to install. It took me longer to install the electrical outlet under the sink (the last disposal was hard wired) than it did to install the unit itself. The first time I ran it I thought that something was wrong. It sounded like it was stalled and I was just hearing the motor humming. I had to stop the water and pull the little rubber splash guard out of the sink to see that it was indeed spinning. This thing is so much quieter than the InSinkErator model that I had before. It seems to be very powerful as well. I haven't fed much through it yet but I feel pretty confident that it can handle anything that we can throw at it.Customer Review: Great Value, reasonable sound level, great performance.

Amazing value, I would have ended up with a standard 1/4 hp unit from Home Depot if I hadn't checked here first. Installation was a breeze, I used the bracket and parts that came with the unit, nothing else was needed. Seems to grind superior to the 1/2 hp insinkerator unit this replaced. The sound is a slightly higher tone than my last, but the volume is muffled and very reasonable.
The only complaint from my girlfriend is that items don't fall into this disposal as easily as the last. I assume that this will get easier in time as more things pass through the rubber trap and it does not lower my opinion of this unit.

Our Waste King replaced a 1/4 hp unit that was limping along. We are thrilled with the performance of Waste King! It is much quieter than the replaced unit and it does an impressive job. At about $121 delivered, this is an exceptional bargain.
One downside that irritates my wife is that the drain cap is cheap plastic. This seems incongruous for such a heavy duty machine.
Follow-up: My wife notified Waste King about her frustration with the plastic cap and they sent her a replacement within about 3 business days. We are impressed with the quick response from Waste King. This is a quality organization!

I wasn't sure if this is good. I was told to look for 1hp and this model has many positive reviews. After I bought this, three plumbers came in to give me an estimate for installation. 2 out of 3 asked where I bought this and they both said this is a very good Garbage Disposal. The installation went smoothly, except the plastic connector pipe broke. No other review mention this so I suppose that is the plumber's mistake.
The warranty is the best among the others, this sort of things matter. It gives you peace of mind. And it is very quiet for a garbage disposal. I am glad I got it just before the price went up.

Pro: Excellent grinder operation. Grinds everything very small so I hope I will not have the clogged drains I have had with a previous weaker grinder.
It is as quiet as a 1 HP grinder could be, I suppose.
Cons: Even with the EZ mount collar, it is very hard for a single person to mount it. The noise insulating cover comes so high it can obstruct the collar dropping low enough to lock the ring without two people to help lift and center the heavy motor. The old 3-bolt system would have been easier.
The noise is not insignificant, but it may appeal to Harley owners as it has a low loud growl.
