I replaced an "Insinkerator" 1/3 H.P. with this new 1 H.P. Waste King L-8000 disposer. The price was great and it arrived quickly.
Installation was not too hard to do. It came with all of the necessary parts and it fit well under my sink. I cut the output pipe to size and it mated up with the rest of the discharge plumbing.
This unit is very quiet and I have not had any problems disposing of citrus rinds etc. I run the water for a brief time then turn on the disposer and drop any waste into the drain and in seconds it's gone. I let the water run for a short while to flush out any remaining small scraps and then turn it off.
All in all, I'd recommend this item for anyone looking for a quality disposer.
It's built very well and it's a simple plug in installation.

Received item in good timeframe. Easy to install, just follow the instructions. Hardest part was adjusting the piping it was hooking up to. This unit is replacing an ISE 444 which died after 6 years of service. It had the 3 bolt attachment so if you are replacing a 3 bolt attachment just check your piping connections before you cut the length of the plastic discharge pipe coming out of the waste king.
Comparing the two units (444 vs. 8000)the 8000 spins a lot quicker and dishes in the sink or even on the counter nearby can vibrate when the unit is on. Funny enough though the 8000 is quieter than the 444. The 8000 needs more coaxing to accept food into the unit than the 444 due to a smaller more resistant rubber entry piece. The good thing is that the rubber piece is removable.
Couple of things why I bought this over another ISE. I have had 2 ISE units die on me over the past 10 years so I like the fact that the 8000 comes with a lifetime warranty. I also like the fact that the reset button is on the front instead of underneath. I like the fact that the removable rubber piece is easily removed in case something you didn't want to go in the unit accidentially goes in and you need to fish it out. Much easier to see everything with the rubber piece removed. Finally the price is a lot cheaper than the ISE. The 8000 doesn't come with a allen wrench to turn the grinder if it gets stuck whereas the 444 did. Even when I used the wrench for the 444 however, the unit was dead and it didn't help even though I could turn the grinder easily. Hopefully this lasts longer than my previous ISE units. Time will tell.

This disposal is so quiet, I can hardly tell it's working! It's brand new, so of course it works very well. I bought it from Amazon because it was actually cheaper than Waste King direct and the brands at Home Depot or Lowes (I was told by a plumber to NOT buy Badger). In-Sinkerator is very good, but costs more than the Waste King. Amazon shipped and I received within days of purchase. This is an extremely good disposer for an unbelievable price. The installation was simple and it finely eats garbage without even slowing down or diming the lights. My plumbing is marginal and my house electricity is vintage 1950, so I had concerns in both these areas. I had some reservations when I ordered it, because the price was within a few dollars of the replaced unit from 15 years ago which constantly had to be unblocked. If you have these same concerns, you will like this unit. Amazon got the unit to me in just a few days. I ordered everything I could from Amazon for our remodeling last year and keep coming back because of the excellent service and prices.
