First, I went to Home Depot where I bought the LG refrigerator. I was told that they do not stock these filters and was also not told that I could order them. So I went looking online. My first stop in online shopping is always Amazon.com. There were several products for sale at different prices and in different quantities, so I chose the one that I viewed as the best "deal". I easily replaced the old one with one of the new ones and I still have a spare for sometime down the road. I don't need to replace them every 6 months as suggested by the packaging because I have a "whole house water filter" in the line before the refrigerator, which pre-filters all the water used in the house. I always seem to find exactly what I am looking for at Amazon.com, and this time was no exception. A good product at a good price - and AVAILABLE!!!!
Description of Water Sentinel WSL-1 Refrigerator Replacement Filter, 2-Pack
These filters were designed and engineered by Water Treatment professionals who understand water filtration products and who designed and created many of the filters you see in the market today. These filters are guaranteed to fit by the manufacturer and will provide clean, clear, great tasting water for you and your entire family. These filters come in a beautiful retail box which is sealed by the manufacturer to ensure the safety of the filters as they are shipped to you. The retail box is suitable for retail sales and includes a barcode. Also included in the box is a date label to use to properly date the filter as you install it. Also included is an installation instruction sheet. The filter also is protected with a red sanitary end cap which is designed to ensure your product arrives safe, sound and in perfect condition. Each filter includes a 6 gram package of o-ring lubricant known as DOW 111. This lubricant works to ensure that the unit you install goes in properly and also is easy to remove after use. The lubricant is NSF listed for these types of applications.
