Nobody in the water business has figured how to economically build single piece replacement filters, like an oil filter in a car, or a hydraulic filter. One piece, easy to change, takes seconds. The water business is stuck in the 1950s with their element style filters which are an absolute nightmare to change and not leak. If you are very lucky you can do it in 5 minutes, if not you can fool around with the thing for an hour trying to get the filter in place, the gasket (usually with some sil sealer to help) in place all this threaded on to the housing and tight and sealed with no leaks. It is a nightmare design that desperately needs updating to the obvious existing design solution. Bottom line - I would not buy another.
