Tools and Hardware Reviews of Watts WP2BVC Premier Two-Stage Microbiological Purifier Water Filtration SystemCustomer Review: Overpriced Summary: 1 Stars
You need to realize that the only difference between Watts WP2BVC and Watts LCV (500313) selling on Amazon, is the filter cartridge which fits both of them. You can make Watts WP2BVC yourself by replacing the original VOC filter of 500313 (1 micron) with Microbiological 2-pk one (0.5 micron) and save a lot of money (about 50% if you wait for 6 months till it is time to replace filter).
The original Watts WP2BVC they sell on their web site has a designer faucet with a battery indicator, not the cheap air gap one included here. The included manual is for the designer faucet, so people are having hard time installing the unit.
On a personal note, the included hoses are junk and the intake one (green) failed on me after a month of use flooding our kitchen. They are easily replaceable with fortified ice maker hoses you can get at Lowe's or HD.
Watts makes ice maker houses as well (Lowe's carries hundreds of their parts so I know), that's why it is hard to understand why they include cheapest plastic tubes and connectors with the unit. They have everything they need to create a solid, reliable system but don't care. The manual hasn't being updated for years as well.
Customer Review: Very nice unit. Summary: 5 Stars
This is a very nice unit, water tastes very good and once the filter clears (10gallons+ needs to run thru for that) it also gets a very respectable water output. The faucet is nothing to be ashamed of as well, unlike other/cheaper units.
The installation instructions, unfortunately, are not very accurate as they pertain to a different type of faucet. It wasn't problem here but it might be an issues to some people. Make sure to tighten adapter included on the valve as it is lose to allow removal if you have different pipe size than normal.
You won't need teflon tape on contrary to as indicated in other posts. All connections are compression fittings or have a nice rubber gaskets to eliminate need for teflon which might actually prevent you from screwing the caps tight enough for gasket to work properly.
Replacement filters. I ordered from different site since pricing on amazon is, unfortunately, somewhat high. I ordered from cfsco.net/waprrefipafo.html for much less.
I recommend this filter.
Customer Review: Great unit Summary: 4 Stars
This is a sturdy unit, and the faucet is very nice, as pictured in item description, although not the same as the one in the manual - you can see the installation instructions at Watts' website. Only needed a small wrench to remove the cold water line from the supply pipe and replace it with the kit's valve. I'd recommend a basin wrench if the top of your sink (where the faucet goes) is hard to reach from below. Follow the directions to run at least 7 gallons of water through before first use. Pressure is low until you get close to 7 gallons and the filters are saturated and the bubbles are gone. After that primary "rinse" the water flows slightly faster than one ounce per second on my well/pump supply which has another sediment filter upstream - municipal pressure would likely be stronger. I mounted the unit on the screws provided, but did not snug them down to the wall, so I can easily lift the unit out for filter change or inspection. There is ample tubing for any sort of mounting and removal from under sink.
Customer Review: Watts WP2BVC Premier Two-Stage Microbiological Pur... Summary: 4 Stars
I am reviewing this product on the basis of a purchase for my mother, even though I have the very same brand just different features than hers, when first installed by a professional installer, there was some modification done when installing, other than that it was easy to install like all Watts systems, after installation, my mother and installer both tasted the water from which the water came from these two filters, from their opinion the water did not taste very good, comparing that to her older system, she claims she was not impressed by the water quality at first, but after a day or two of use, she claims the water quality is much better and more to what she had expected from Watts reverse osmosis. I would recommend purchasing a four stage reverse osmosis Watts brand (own four stage reverse osmosis watts brand) very pleased with the four stage, water quality is excellent and the taste is clean and refreshing, well worth the extra money.
Customer Review: Great faucet - instructions suggestion Summary: 4 Stars
I've used various types of filters in the past (Brita and Pur pitcher filters, Pur faucet filter), but this is by the far the best. I've had it for about a week now, and no question - it is more complex to install if you have no plumbing experience like me, but what you get is a solid and elegant water filter solution. You can pay $30 for the Pur faucet filter like I did, but it will likely leak after a while (after 1 year for me).
As everyone else has said, the instructions specific to the faucet itself are for a different model. Instead, I used instructions (specifically page 6) for a different faucet system located here: [...] . The faucet is the same as the one included in this model.
I highly recommend this faucet and would give it 5 stars if the instructions were correct.
Hope my experience helps others.
