Wow, I love my Wein AS150MM Air Purifier. Airline cabin air is constantly recirculated and never filtered or freshened enough. Every time I flew I'd come down with an upper respiratory ailment... until I bought and wore one of these. Got mine in 2003 during the height of the SARS epidemic in China and it is still going strong! When in heavily polluted cites like Kathmandu and the industrial areas of China I wear mine constantly. It helps keep the pollution croup and the invariable hacking at bay. When a friend with heavy-duty cat allergies visits my home I hang it around his neck and it helps him avoid a reaction.
Some airline attendants do ask that you turn it off for takeoffs and landings (like it will bring a jetliner down... REALLY?) Batteries can be purchased online in bulk at very reasonable prices or buy rechargeables if you use it a lot. Just be sure to blow the dust off the screen every once in a while to keep it working efficiently. When the tab on the battery cover weakened and broke Wein quickly sent a replacement. I'll certainly buy another if mine ever dies! GOOD PRODUCT WEIN!
