I took my chances and went with the reviews out here. Placed order on May 14th; received confirmation on May 19th. Then realized seller sells many other gadgets not having to do much with lamps at all. Paid $6.50 for shipping, and product arrived on May 30th. FYI: Fixture does not work on lamps plugged into an extension cord. Bought this piece for my chandelier - I have to tap on the chandelier twice to get each degree on my lighting. The first two degrees of lighting are super-dim, on a lamp of 4 25-watt bulbs; the third degree is super-bright. I wish I would have gone the extra mile to consult a specialist/seller in light fixtures. I could use this one on another lamp, it seemed to do better. But it was supposed to have a special purpose for my chandelier! This dimmer is dim. Live and learn!Customer Review: Works Great at a Reasonable Price

This device is just what I needed to control a tall floor lamp whose three-way switch was too high to reach from my arm chair. Rather than replace the lamp with a new one that turns on when you touch it, this gadget seemed like a logical option. It works for most metal lamps, most of the time. Touch any part of the lamp that is metal and it comes on. Occasionally, it is balky and won't work as expected until you've touched the lamp several times (and you probably look pretty strange doing that, if anyone is looking!) but it is generally reliable, and the occasional balk is easily forgiven for the convenience of touch control. Overall, it is an inexpensive solution to a simple problem for a reasonable price.Customer Review: Works as described

Bought this for a metal floor lamp used for reading. The lamp did not have a 3 way socket. I ordered this unit. Plugged it into the wall socket and plugged the lamp cord into the unit. Touched the lamp and it turned on high, again, medium, again, low, again, off. I was using a 100 watt bulb in the lamp. I would guess on high it was the full 100 watts, on medium 60 and on low 40. Of course it depends on the max wattage you put in the lamp. Can't say much more than it works. I wish it would allow you to dim and brighten through the full range as a wall dimmer would but this works fine for my needs. My wife can read on medium, low for background light or high if we need a lot of light.Customer Review: Plastic Trash that Doesn't Work and Blew a Bulb

I found these on clearance at Target. Now I know why.
This piece of trash would only turn on the lamp next to bed to the lowest setting. It would not turn off my lamp, nor would it allow the bulb to burn any brighter.
So, I tried it with my desk lamp with one of the expensive Reveal bulbs I need for work. It shot that one immediately when I tapped the lamp. (The bulb was completely cool and hadn't been on for almost 24 hours; so the tapping couldn't have shot the bulb.)
So, I'll be returning these and complaining to the company that they owe me a new Reveal bulb. Want to take bets on if I get one from them?

I have bought $35 Westek touch dimmers that have worked great for about 5 years, then I must buy another. I have moved, so this time I looked to Amazon for a replacement. I didn't find the exact one I have used before, but thought I would try this one, a little leery of the cheap price and the 3 reviews that said they didn't work. Well, mine didn't work in any of the three lamps I tried it with. So back it goes. First time I have ever returned something to Amazon and glad they make it so easy.
