I have a metal lamp that I have wished for the longest time to be a touch lamp, I was looking for a kit to convert it and stumbled upon this dimmer. All I had to do was plug it in and presto it's a touch lamp! Now you do have to deliberately make an effort to "touch" the lamp in order for it to work, but if you touch the metal of the on the shade even, since everything is connected, it works. So if you need a quick conversion of a metal based lamp to a touch lamp, this will do the trick.Customer Review: Handy Helper

I ordered three of these plugs after reading all the reviews. I'm partially handicapped and was having "issues" with a pole lamp that was difficult
to turn on/off. Had problems with one unit and before sending it back had it switched and re-installed on a different lamp---worked perfectly. You do need to make sure all bulbs are firmly screwed in and the follow the instructions
to install.

Shipped to me right away, but it's almost worthless. It does dim the lamp plugged into it, but it also changes brightness when the phone rings, and it often changes the lamp for no apparent reason. Go to bed with the light off...them POW! Light comes on at 2am. It's cheap enough, but you get what you pay for. Spend another $10 and buy a better unit.Customer Review: Touch Lamp Dimmer

Works great with any lamp I have used it with. These usually last a few years and then quit working. I have used one like this for 8 or more years. My wife has arthritic hands and it is a life saver for her. Actually I like them to.
Only downside is they usually wear out around the 3 year mark in my experience. I will continue using them.

I love this product. In fact I ordered 4 more! I have purchased these in the past here locally. But, when I needed to add some more could not find them here in town. This will turn any metal lamp into a touch lamp. Very convenient and easy to use and install. I have one that is more than 10 years old and still works fine every day.
