It works fine as long as it is firmly plugged in. If it is jostled even the slightest bit, it does not function properly until the plug is readjusted. I found that bending the tines slightly outward helps significantly, but you must take care not to break the plastic housing.Customer Review: Did Not Work

I used the Plug-In Dimmer on a metal floor lamp set on a wood floor. It took several touches before anything would happen. The worst was that the light bulb flickered on when turned off. This was a useless waste of money and I feel stupid for purchasing it.

I have a bedside lamp and love to read or watch TV in bed. Often I get drowsy and all I have to do to turn out the light is touch the lamp base. It does not disturb my sleepiness by looking for the switch. I love it and will buy again!Customer Review: Mine didn't work
