I purchased this after searching several home improvement stores and not being able to find the dimmer in black. After a few days, the light would suddenly go out. Basically the plug does not fit in properly into the slots and when you try to adjust it, sparks are visible. Unfortunately, due to the numerous amount of times the lights would go out, I've stopped using it and felt compelled to write this review to warn others.Customer Review: high watt dimmer

Instead of constructing my own dimmers for use in videography, I found these dimmers and applied them to 500watt tungsten bulbs. All three dimmers work very well. The filaments will hum when dimmed, The controls need to be used by hand for fine adjustment. Only complaint is that the units are not equipped with a three prong plug, for proper grounding.Customer Review: Wonderful product

This makes turning my salt lamp down to a low glow on my desk so much easier.
During the day I can have the lamp bright, at night I can set it to a very low glow so I can sleep.
I have all my cords under my desk and they are hard to access. I can slip my toes under and adjust the dimmer easily.

I use this with a small room fan - it lets you "dim" a fan instead of a lamp - works well. The control is not as fine as with other (older) westek dimmers that I have - guess they don't build 'em like they used to. But this is half the price of those older gizmos and it does the job.Customer Review: better.

This is the best 'foot' dimmer I've seen. However, I've never seen one that gives enough resistance for true foot-actuated increments with any kind of accuracy. Either way, we all give in and use our hands in the end. You know you do.
