Customer Review: Works Like a Charm!

I orderd this to replace the dimmer control in a bedside lamp. It's one of the classic "touch light" styled units. All yellow brass, with the glass lamp shades, and three individual bulbs. This unit installed quickly and easily. Like everything electrical, it's newer, so it's half the size of the burned out unit it replaced. You do have to adapt the included directions a bit for this style of lamp. There are three individual bulbs, so three +120V (black wires, or "hots") and three neutrals (white wires) in the lamp base that go up to the bulb sockets. I had to use some of my own wire nuts to make the connections work. The pieces they supply with the kit are designed for single bulb installations, and are too small for the additional two wires in each connections. You can buy wire these nuts almost anywhere. Just make sure you don't buy the "automotive only" style. They are only rated for the 12VDC (volts direct current) found in most motor vehicle wiring. Look for those rated to 300V minimum. You should find them in most home improvement shops. Overall, exactly what I was looking for, and at a good price too!
