We bought this fan/light for our master bedroom. We really like it so far. The bulbs are the candelabra bulbs that have the smaller screw connection. We replaced the bulbs that came with it with the compact fluorescent candelabra bulbs. It says that the metal is brushed pewter, but I believe it is painted to look like brushed pewter. You can't really tell once it is mounted.
Overall, we are happy with our purchase. It did take a little while to receive the fan.

The Westinghouse Comet fan provides powerful cooling and air with its 52-inch, five-blade design. The blades are reversible, with one side being Light Maple and the other White, providing versatility in home decorating. Both sides coordinate handsomely with the fan's Brushed Pewter finish.The fan includes a one-light lighting kit with a large central globe resting below the center of the fan, providing welcome light when necessary. The globe is made of opal glass.
52-inch fans are best suited for large rooms such as living rooms, dining rooms, great rooms, and large bedrooms. The fan is covered with a 25 year limited warranty.--Jeffrey Dalto
