If you do trim work for a living, you can't afford not to have one of these. I have installed stair treads with and without this guide and I will never do one without it again. It will pay for itself on the first job in saved time.
I have never seen a perfectly square inside to inside stairwell, and this guide will let you cut perfect treads every time.

I used the tool for the first and only set of oak stairs that I ever installed. The end result looks very professionally done, thanks in no small part to the PL200 Stair Wizard. The device worked as represented for measuring both treads and risers. And it requires such a small storage space that I decided to keep it rather than put it on the market after my job was completed!Customer Review: Stair Wizzard to the rescue!

I was having a difficult time cutting new solid ashe treads and riser on a stair case remodel. Nothing seemed to match up. I was making 10 or more cuts per tread. After much frustration, a friend recommended the stair wizzard. I ordered it from amazon.com and it arrived in no time. This product allowed me to mark and cut every tread to perfection the first time I used it. My stairs look great and I could not be more pleased.
The product is a little costly, but the time and frustration saved more than made up for the cost.
