PROS:
It was extremely easy to remove the existing filter and install the new one. It's nice to be able to get filtered water without having one of thoase bulky filters on your sink water tap.
CONS:
I think it is rediculous that these filters are so expensive. I use this water to fill my coffee maker which is the type that only makes one cup at a time. This allows you to use all opf the water and not throw out half a pot of unused coffee.if you use this water for your coffee maker in addition to drinking, the filter onl;y lasts about two monthswhich at about $40.00 can be extremely expensive.

This filter lasted about 7 months for our family of four. It provides crystal clear and very good tasting drinking water. It's very quick and easy to replace and it can be done in about 30 seconds. The only down side is the cost is a little on the high side and this filter only removes 4 different contaminants. I pay a few more dollars now and get the PUR 4396710 that removes 12 different contaminants including harmful substances like lead, mercury, asbestos. If you want good tasting water then this filter will do the trick. If you want good tasting and healthy water then get the PUR 4396710.Customer Review: Just What I Needed

The Amazon price was a little less than any hardware store's online price, so I ordered one and didn't waste time or gas checking out local hardware stores' inventory or prices. This was the first time for ours to be replaced in the new refrigerator, so I had no experience with these filters. The Kitchen Aid owners manual gave very little info about the filters, but I was able to match my model with one of the Whirlpool filters, which I ordered. Next time, I'll order a multi-pack (a small discount) since I now know this is the correct replacement part.Customer Review: good product but expensive

good product, water tastes good again. It would be nice it can be cheaper. Note for installation: once the filter fits the slot, slide it all the way in, then need to snap it in hard at the end, feel the hard click, now the filter is actually all in. this way, the filter is correctly installed. Initially, I did not do the hard snap, the filter was tied in there, but it was actually hanging in there. Not fully connected. After the hard snap, It will not have the water slowness problem as I saw other people have in recent review postings.

I'm a little bit paranoid about water filtration so I have various gadgets to check on them. This filter does not get the job done right. Let me elaborate a bit. As it's known the fridge pipes over time will accumulate salts and other minerals. This results many times in the form of a hazel like white floating substance in your water. Any good filter will be able to take care of this and clean it. However this is not the case with this filter. I wasn't expecting a RO quality membrane but these kind of particles should have been filtered.
