Well when I first got it and put it in, it caused water to leak all over the place. Then there was disgusting gray blobs coming out in the water, so I looked and its said to run it to filter it out for four minutes. I did but still couldnt use it..I had to run it alot alonger, which wasted alot of water...I don't understand I've used this product before and never had a problem so maybe just some are like this? We bought our Whirlpool refrigerator last year & have changed out the cartridges every 6 months without fail as the indicator in our fridge changes color. These cartridges are generally pricey in department stores (Sears, Best Buy, etc...), however it is a bit cheaper on Amazon, plus free shipping that was reasonably within 7 days. I'd highly recommend purchasing this item for the Whirlpool refrigerator.Customer Review: Filtered water fast!

I have a new Whirlpool fridge that came with this filter. When the time came to replace the filter, I looked for the same product because it allows a large volume to be filtered at one time. Guests at my house have commented on how rapidly the water comes out and it is great for filling the coffee pot and pasta pot within seconds instead of minutes. What can you say about a product that is part of a larger item?
This is the correct part, at a good price and free S&H.
It is an item that needs to be replaced and this is a good place to buy it from.
Even if you do not replace this on the suggested schedule, you should not just ignore replacement.
That can cause the filer to clog and cause problems with water flow.

Ordered the item thru Amazon. Cheapest when I placed my order.
Took 11 days before it ends into my mailbox (USPS). Would have expected a faster delivery.
Fortunately, it is a filter... Not a survival kit.
Other than that, replacing the filter is takes 20 seconds.
Don't forget to poor 3 galons of water that you will throw away prior to start drinking the water.
