Customer Review: Package says 50 amp, instructions say 40amp

I'm a little puzzled if this cord is indeed rated for 50 amps. The packaging on the front says 50 amp, but the little installation instructions inside the package sandwiched into the strain relief bracket say 40 amp.
I originally bought a 6' 50 amp cord from Lowes which is 6/2 & 8/2 gauge wire. Six feet is pretty long and my slide in range seems to keep getting caught on the wire no matter how I tie wrap it up to take up excess length.
The FSP wire I bought from Amazon (after opening the box) says 8/2 & 10/2 gauge wire which would make sense for a 40 amp wire. I'm wondering if this wire is mispackaged or if because it's 4 feet instead of 6 feet that the wire gauge can be the next size smaller.
Does anyone else have this wire can check if the writing on the cord itself says 8/2 & 10/2 or 6/8 & 8/2? Thanks.
