Product info made it difficult to determine if it would fit my dryer. Called Sears Parts direct and ordered lint filter (41.90 + 15.00 h&s). Looked again at Sears site,found the actual filter. Sears part on back order and recommended sub. was whirlpool 8557882 so I ordered on amazon with intent to return Sears Parts Direct. (they wouldn't cancel my order even though I called back 15 minutes later, said I would have to get return authorization and send back (less ship) for refund.) Got both. Sears was a little sturdier in feel. Came in long narrow box. Had metal btwn screen and handle portion. Amazon one came in small box, was folded in 1/2 but the screen was flexible and straightened out without any problems. This screen had plastic btwn screen and handle. Just like my old filter that I bought from Sears store over 6yrs ago. For the price, the Amazon filter was the better deal; however, my stepdaughter has a dryer that uses the same filter so I'm sending her the Amazon one. If I saw the 2 filters side by side, I would buy the Amazon one. First the price which was less than 1/2 the sears parts one. 2nd, the quality was enough that with regular use (3-4 loads a week), I think it would last several years at least. 3rd, I didn't want to hassel with Sears Parts direct-it's crazy that you can't cancel an order that was just placed 15 minutes before. They said the order went to processing but it was 4 days later that it was actually shipped out.
