Only wish they sold packages with more tablets, but the product is very easy to use and leaves an excellent smell in my HE washer. I have to wash pre-rinsed (by hand)large puppy pee-pads and didn't want to wash my own clothes after washing these pee-pads but now I'm confident my machine is clean and smells nicely! I found this product did a great job of taking care of the mildew smell in the washer and also on the clothes. The only problem is, and it's not a problem with this product, it's a short term fix for a long term problem. I recently upgraded my front loading washing machine from an old Frigidaire to a fancy new Whirlpool Duet. After only a couple of months the washer developed a severe funky mildew smell and I was shocked. I was using the machine's "clean" cycle with bleach, per the manual, every time the reminder light went off but it had no effect. I've had front loading washers for over thirty years and NEVER encountered this problem before.
After talking with a friend who purchased a similar front loading machine and had the same problems, I followed his recommendation to use only powdered detergents (which this washer handles very nicely) and alternate between this product, Affresh, and Borax on the cleaning cycle. After the switch to powdered detergent and one clean cycle with Affresh my washer is as good as new and stays that way between clean cycles. I don't know if bleach will do the trick now that I've switched to powdered detergent, but I do know that Affresh did a great job getting rid of the buildup that had accumulated after less than six months in my new washer. I am very happy with this product.

These tables are wonderful for front loading washing machines as the front loaders tend to hold water in between loads. These tablets get rid of the sour smell and any mildew which may be forming in the machine. Now don't get me wrong, this is a great product for older washers. But, after I purchased then read the washer manual COMPLETELY, I realized that the newer washers, again I don't know when they introduceed this, have a cycle for disinfecting the washer itself. I didn't NEED to purchase REFRESH. I used it it but in all actuality this tablet is for older models. So don't just jump out and buy the tablets unless you've reviewed your washer capabilities/features completely.
