Now don't get me wrong, this is a great product for older washers. But, after I purchased then read the washer manual COMPLETELY, I realized that the newer washers, again I don't know when they introduceed this, have a cycle for disinfecting the washer itself. I didn't NEED to purchase REFRESH. I used it it but in all actuality this tablet is for older models. So don't just jump out and buy the tablets unless you've reviewed your washer capabilities/features completely.Customer Review: It's your water!!!

For all the people who say that their washers develop an odor--do any of them own a water softener? I don't have to use anything in my washer to keep it smelling fresh; however, I own a Kinetico water softener which takes the minerals and chlorine out of the water so you get water that is so soft you need less detergen to clean your clothes and the washer smells as fresh as it did when it was new. I used this product once as it came with my washer--I saw no difference!Customer Review: Waste of money and time

I have a front loading machine that had the "mildew smell" and ran all 3 (yes, only 3 tablets in an $8 bag) and it was worse after using this product than before. Don't wast your money or time on this product, it doesn't work. The left over "residue" and smell was horrible. I had to run bleach through twice to get the smell from this product out of my washer and I don't normally use bleach, but had to because nothing else I tried would get rid of the smell.Customer Review: Love These Tablets

I had my front loaders for about 5 years before I found these wonderful tablets. The first time I used them, I followed the Internet suggestion of running 3 seperate cycles (1 tablet per cycle) and using all three tablets right away; I was amazed at how well they worked. Now I use one tablet every couple of months to keep my machine fresh.
I also bought extras and sent them to my mom and my brother to try them in their front loaders too =)

Affresh really works. Although my front-load Maytag washer did not have a smell, I just thought it needed some sort of cleaning after all the heavy usage we give it. I used to clean my old top-load Kenmore by periodically running a hot wash with a small amount of detergent (and no clothing), and that seemed to keep it fresh. I find that using one Affresh tablet is sufficient to clean the washer and leave a light, pleasant fragrance.
