I have had a hard time keeping the rubber gasket around the door of my HE clothes washer cleaned. I have used rags and even q-tips to clean it. I saw this on Amazon and thought, give it a try.
After I had run my washer through two tiimes using the tablets that come with this, I tried the towel to clean the gasket area. It got the build up off quickly and easier than I had been doing it with q-tips.
I would recommend this product to be used along with the tablet cleaners.

I have a front loading Whirlpool washing machine. It is about 4 years old. It smells bad! Like stagnant water. I have used the tablets. The clunking sound frightened my cats and the smell was not reduced.
I tried the wipes several times and the smell returned within a day. I have used repeatedly and the small remains. I've now tried Clorox wipes inside the rubber tubing and that does not keep the smell away either.

We were literally looking into buying a new washer because it smelled so terrible (mildew). I bought these and ran three back-to-back cycles - no change. I then someone suggested I put half dish soap and half bleach into the dispenser. It worked perfectly! The bubbles from the dish soap carried the bleach into the tubing/piping with the growing mildew. I suggest trying that first, before you spend the money on the Affresh.Customer Review: not worth the money

I used the tablets as instructed and the wiping cloths and it did very little to get rid of the odor. I then had my husband take off the front panel to look for some part that they (other reviewers)said could hold debris. We don't have one. I haven't even bothered to use the other box of tablets I bought. I just threw about a cup of white vinegar in w/ the HE detergent and got way better results. save your money.Customer Review: fresher laundry

I was not aware of what purpose the wiping cloths would serve, but after wiping down the door gasket, I immediately saw the nasty residue of dirt and lint. By the way, the accumulation is behind the gasket as you would wrap your fingers behind the seal in the groove. You cannot see this from the front. In combined use with the the tablets you add to the wash, the laundry is fresher.
