Tools and Hardware Reviews of Wiremold C110 White Cordmate Kit

Customer Review: Excellent product for concealing speaker wire
Summary: 5 Stars

My room is 16x15, and I have a Pioneer HTS-GS1 home theater in a box system, with speakers in every corner of my room on speaker stands. So I had a ton of wiring laying around looking terrible! I bought 6 of these kits in total. It was going to ship in two shipments since 3 were from Amazon (all they had left) and 3 were from an outside vendor. I received the first 3 packages, yet one of the boxes was empty. I notified Amazon and they promptly 2 day shipped another one out to me. Big thumbs up to Amazon Customer service. But I decided to go ahead and start my installation anyways, even with just two out of the six packages. I busted out a measuring tape and hacksaw, and got to work. It was my first time doing anything like this and it was very straightforward. I now have about 40% of the wires concealed using just these two kits. I would definitely recommend using a hacksaw to cut through this stuff, as it is pretty hard. I used the elbows around the corners and they worked like a charm. I thought that varying the height of the raceways (on top of molding, and then going down to the floor for going across doorways) wouldn't look good, but it blends in very well. I am very satisfied with this product, and would recommend it for anyone who needs to route speaker wire and doesnt want to drill holes through their walls.

Customer Review: Does what it says on the tin - not for large cables though
Summary: 3 Stars

I purchased this product to cover a power cable, HDMI cable and network cable leading from my television to the nearest wall. The product was as described and does the job if you want a quick-ish fix for such a problem.

My gripes:
1) Difficult to get your cables in the thing - it's essentially a tightly curved piece of plastic - no clip on clip off so it's an effort getting the cables in there to start with
2) Not very wide - My power cable will not go in, and it barely holds my network and HDMI cable - these are not big cables and it's at capacity
3) No movement - anything more than one cable jams them in so tight that you cannot move the cable back and forth once it is in there. This was an issue for me, because it was such a task getting them in there i had to pull the whole thing closer to me, but this meant I was pulling out excess cable which I wasn't able to get rid off after

My for's:
1) It's cheap- you can't argue with the price
2) Strong - I gave it some bashing and nothing snapped; also the self adhesive strip is a real easy way to fix it to the wall
3) Ideal for one cable

Not quite what I needed, but I'm going to keep it and try and find a 'white' power cable instead to camouflage it.

Customer Review: Good results -- but requires some effort
Summary: 4 Stars

I used this product to hide wires over drywall, wood trim, and marble walls. I got good results overall, but it took some effort. For most surfaces, I had to remove adhesive that came with product and replace it with permanent 3M VHB double-sided tape, which is much stronger. Product can be cut fast & accurately using PVC pipe cutter (the kind with blade, available at any hardware store). Some bends & corners with unusual angles may need to be mitered for a clean look.

In some places I had to caulk around wireguide to achieve a gapless fit. Then there's the work of painting wireguide to match wall/trim: a snap if you have the right paint, otherwise expect some trial & error to find a good color match.

Overall a worthwhile product, but expect to put some time & effort into installation.

Customer Review: it is what it is
Summary: 4 Stars

this is a simple device and yet one of the only options around to concealing wires easily. it does what it says, the backing tape is strong, and overall it does exactly what you think it would do. there are really only two negatives, and these aren't even negatives to everyone:

1. thin, you can't put a lot of wires inside of it. if you're running 16ga or smaller, you might get 2 or 3 sets inside of it.
2. it's sturdy, probably too sturdy in that it is difficult to actually get wires in and out at first. it requires some elbow grease.

otherwise, it's a perfectly fine product. i bought 3 sets of these and at first only used 1 set. after a couple of months i found reasons to use the rest, so for the $30 i spent it was definitely worthwhile.

Customer Review: Miss-represented product
Summary: 1 Stars

The description says that this item is 1.08 inches x 1.50 inches x 36 inches. In another area of the listing it says 1.1 x 1.5 x 36 inches. When they arrived I didn't even open them, and could not believe what size they really are. I measured them with calipers through the plastic bag they came in and found that they are .49" x .51" and didn't bother to measure the length since they were so drastically different from what was posted and also from what I needed for my job that it didn't matter. Now the job I had scheduled for Saturday is postponed until the Panduit Pan-Way LD-10's arrive. This has been a disappointing waist of my time and an inconvenience to my customer which could have been avoided with proper and accurate description of this product
