I live in an old house and have a large laundryroom/"artist studio" that just wouldn't stay warm. I'd heat it, but half an hour later, it would be cold again. I had the walls, ceiling ,and floor insulated ,which helped ..but didn't solve the problem. My next expensive attempt at maintaining the heat was going to be installing double pane windows. At the time, my budget didn't allow for the new windows, so I opted for changing the dryer vent. What a difference it makes ! The room now stays toasty warm !

This is a good quality product. I had some minor difficulty installing because the holes on the flange did not match up with the mortar cracks in the brick foundation. Other holes can be drilled in the flange, just be prepared to drill holes in whatever wall this is to be mounted. I painted after installation with a brush and latex paint as recommended. I still wonder if a good quality spray paint applied before installation would have made more sense. Works great. We'll see how cold the dryer gets come winter!Customer Review: Great solution for dryer venting

Item was purchased based on previous reviews and I was not disappointed. Vent closure is very well made,sturdy,and parts fit and work perfectly.
Mine had to be mounted over aluminum siding so I screwed the vent closure parts onto a piece of 3/4"X8"X12" painted board with a 4" hole in it for the duct pipe. The painted board was then attached with 4 long screws through the siding. Worked very well.
A bit of silicone seal to get everything airtight and we now have a much warmer laundry room.

This dryer vent is a simple design but very effective. My old dryer vent was just a metal flap that never closed completely so my laundry room was always freezing in the winter. The Heartland vent only opens when the dryer is on and closes to keep the warm air in the house and the insects outside. I painted it to match my house color and have bought 2 more for dryers at the rental property we own. I recommend it very highly.

This is an excellent Venting closure. I was looking for ways to keep critters out of my house. The standard vent enclosures never fully close after use and allow for a variety of bugs and mammals to enter your house.This item ended all that for me. It's pretty simple to set up. I painted it before installing it where the other vent was. Don't fret if you can't use all the screws as the new calking materials on the market are more than enough to hold it to any wall.
