Yes, this is a soft case for the ZTS MBT battery tester I bought and it would work fine for that.
My use is for a jetBook-Lite eBook reader. Fits perfect for the width, but there's three extra inches top to bottom. I placed four AA's over this extra material and see that two straight seams sewn across will make two perfect pockets for a spare set of batteries. Shouldn't be much harder than sewing a button.
The battery tester sits on a counter-top and is used daily. I made a dust cover by trimming one side of the tough molded plastic "clam" it came in. Works great, just wish I'd been a little more careful using the kitchen shears to trim along the edges. My cut wandered and a realignment trim created a sliver. Oh well, it works but could have looked better.
