Hello!
This filter system is the easiest thing in the world to maintain if you just follow a few rules...
We absolutely love ours and have been using it for 5 years now. To me it's invaluable because you don't have to buy water or lug heavy bottles around.
As far as the other reviews I think I know why they had the problem.
My system worked great for about 6 months then I noticed the levels were up to 14 and the taste off quite a bit.
It seemed to happen quickly. I called the company and they were very helpful, they asked me if I cleaned the unit as per specifications, I replied no I didn't realize I had to... They said in order to kill any bacteria present in the beginning very hot water, almost boiling should be poured throughout the unit, not the filters, allowed to stay in system for a few minutes then drained from it using the plug in the rear of the unit. I didn't even know there was a plug in the rear of the unit... So then they said after that, rinse it with cold water and then try filling it. The company seemed very interested in helping me and also asked me several other questions to resolve my issues, I told them that i noticed the problem seemed to start right after I turned on the HOT water heater and left it on after a family get together and they said thats probably what did it. The heat allows bacteria to grow. So now if I
Have a party using the HOT feature to serve Tea I turn it off as soon as I am sure we are finished with it, then I check the levels a few days later to make sure its clear and if not I run the hot water through it once and its worked great for me. This system works very well if you just follow the directions, my family has never drank so much water as they do now and we are very pleased with this product!
