The same day it arrived, I also bought a MagicJack. It was quite a struggle to open that package using this item. The blades are so big that it took a lot of maneuvering to keep cutting through the MagicJack's blister pack.

My wife and I think this is a great product. It makes short work of rounded corners and straight lines. Used others products such as Pyranna Plastic and ones that look like utility knives. This is much better because it takes little effort and cuts through everything. It's like having metal shears in your kitchen. The one major problem we have is that both side buttons look similar. One side button locks the shears together and other button extends a little knife straight out of the handle. If you are not careful, you will jam that knife into your palm.Customer Review: Works GREAT but the latch keeps breaking off

This is a wonderful product with a design flaw. I am on my second one. It works really well to open packages, the clippers are great and the box cutter thing is very nice and seems safe to use because it automatically retracts. However, the safety latch that holds the clippers shut is a cheap piece of plastic and breaks. The first one I had broke within days. I have had my current one for about a year and it just broke too. If the manufacturer fixes that problem then I would give this item five stars for sure. It is a great tool other than that problem.Customer Review: Good for more than just opening clamshells.....

The secret to this tool is the offset blades; this allows you to cut any size package without the handles getting in the way.
The blades are very sharp and cut through the plastic very quickly.
I keep these in our kitchen junk drawer; my spouse uses them to cut flower stems before putting them in a vase.
I've never used the screwdriver; I think this was a "throw-in" to make it more attractive ("Honey, look, it's also a screwdriver").
This may seem to be a frivolous tool, but I think it is worth every penny.

This package opener has very heavy duty blades. It almost feels more like an aluminum cutter. It seems to tackle most every package, but I could really do without the screw-driver built into the handle. Not a huge fan of the tiny box cutter blade in the handle, either. That seems to be potentially dangerous and I don't see that I'll ever need that (and I have a dedicated box cutter, anyway).
That said, it's solid and does the job for a reasonable price. Better than slashing your hands up manually opening a clam-shell theft-prevention case.
