4.5 Stars. I've had my "Open It" for about 11 months now and I use them all the time for opening boxes and those damn clamshell/blister packages. The clippers are powerful and able to easily cut through any plastic packaging I've come across - the handles give you great leverage and a comfortable grip, so I've never been forced to use two hands to try to cut through anything, like I've had to sometimes with regular or even "heavy duty" scissors.
Most of the complaints are focused on the secondary features: the screwdriver and the boxcutter blade. These are certainly its weak points - a real boxcutter or screwdriver are definitely MUCH better at those tasks. BUT - I often find that when I have this tool out to open a package, I often have also find I then have a light need for a screwdriver (say, to open the battery compartment on a kids toy) or a cutter (say, to cut the shrinkwrap on a DVD case) and for that kind of simple purpose, the Open It's cutter or screwdriver is handy and saves me from needing to get up and pull out another tool. For light-duty stuff like that which you might need while you already have the cutters out, they are nice to have, but not make-or-break features. These are primarily sturdy clippers and the rest is just gravy.

Could not wait to get the Zibra Open It! because of all the positive customer reviews - I hate opening plastic packages - little did I know that THIS PRODUCT is MORE DANGEROUS than the plastic packages is claims to safely open!
The FIRST and ONLY time that I used this product I was trying to open an average size plastic package. As soon as I started cutting the cheap plastic latch on the handle broke causing my hand slip and eject the HIDDEN BLADE in the product's handle. The blade sliced right into the palm of my hand. After I grabbed a towel to stop the bleeding, I picked up the Open It! and started trying to figure out how I got cut...and HONESTLY, WHO DESIGNS A PRODUCT WITH A SHARP BLADE IN THE HANDLE THAT YOU HAVE TO HOLD TO USE THE PRODUCT IN THE FIRST PLACE??? Especially if the blade DOES NOT LOCK firmly into place?
I boxed this stupid thing up with the package, which I ended up opening with a utility knife, included a NOT SO NICE little note and sent it back to the brilliant designers at Zibra. Not sure that they will care - they didn't return my phone call and their website does not allow customers to post reviews. The link to the Open IT! below says enjoyZibra - Haaaaa!

Customer Review: saves time and energy!

This product does what is is supposed to do. It has saved me tons of time and energy by opening those plastic clamshells with ease. Gone is the frustrating battles of trying to open clam shells with ordinary scissors or razors. I've also used this product successfully to cut up those plastic tie wraps, it makes it a breeze to snip them open. The built in razor is handy for quickly cutting through the amazon.com packaging tape on the boxes. The built in screwdriver is another bonus feature that saves a trip to the toolbox.
Overall, I highly recommend this tool as an instant gratification enabler and an excitement enhancer due to the products powerfulness in allowing me to quickly get my hands on the products due to its ability to cut through plastic and cardboard packagings in a flash. Get it, you'll be glad you did! :)
UPDATE 2010
This product is still going strong and is so handy to have it easily accessible when my amazon shipments arrive! I live it and think amazon.com should give it as a free gift to their most loyal customers. I am constantly using this product to open up my amazon shipping boxes and to cut into the plastic packages. This takes the hazzle and frustration out of accessing your new products.

Update: After using this for a year, I deducted a star for a couple of reasons (which I have included on the cons).
This is a wonderful product. Simple and easy to use.
I actually bought this from hearing positive reviews from Dick DiBartolo and Leo Laporte
Pros:
-The blade is well designed to get through those irregular shape tough clamshells
-It can easily cut wire twist ties and plastic straps
-It has a retractable blade to cut plastic wraps on CDs and DVD packages.
-Rubber grip to keep it from slipping on your fingers
-Phillips screwdriver is built-in
-Has a safety lock to keep it close when not in use
Cons:
-Screwdriver is a bit cumbersome to use. The screwdriver is only for very small screws, almost the size of those screws you see on your eyeglasses. It is hard to use as handle is not round like a regular screwdriver. Also, it keeps on folding back to the handle with the absence of a lock.
-The latch that secures it when closed is flimsy. Mine has broken off and cannot be closed anymore.
-Not available in other colors. Orange seems too flashy and tacky to some.

My mom had one of these in her house that I used frequently. And once I found I could get one on Amazon (and free shipping with my Prime!), I had to get one for myself.
Interestingly enough, my pair is slightly different than my mom's. It is actually a bit smaller in total size and fits better in my hand than her's. Also, the 'open-close' lock is on the other side from my mom's and slide for the retractable utility knife is on the backside vs the front side as on the pic shown here. And the screwdriver assembly totally slides out vs flipping out on the other pair. So I have to believe there are at least 2 different permutations of 'Open It!' (See my images for a closer look.)
I don't like the little cover over the retractable utility knife; I seem to lose it whenever I try to use it. (Thus only 4 stars and not 5.) But all the other changes seem to improve 'Open It', especially the smaller size; it is less awkward to hold.
As far as opening those injury-inducing clamshells, this product really works wonders! Easier to use than regular scissors and it snips those annoying zip-tie plastic straps with ease.
Highly recommend this product.
