There is nothing more aggravating than trying to open one of those plastic packages that are designed to deter thieves from stealing the contents. I have used knives scissors box cutters etc. with less than satisfactory results. One day I decided to look on the internet to see if there were any products specifically designed for this and ran across this product. I was kind of put off by the orange color because it made it look like the handle was made of some kind of cheap plastic that would break the first time I dropped it but I decided to order it anyway. I was wrong about the handle as it appears to be made out of very durable plastic. The first time I used it to cut open one of those accursed packages I was really impressed with how easy it cut the plastic. I use this tool often and am sure glad I bought it as it does away with all the aggravation of getting a product out of the package. The little razor blade is handy but the screwdriver is not something I ever use because I have plenty of dedicated screwdrivers in my tool collection. Why anyone would give this less than a 5 star rating is beyond me. I plan to order more of them in the fall for Christmas presents. Have a good day folks.Customer Review: Have kids? This is the best product of its type. I have several open-x devices, but this one is much better, particularly when there are wires to be cut. Before I got this, I was using a professional wire cutter for that, but for simple packaging, this works just as well and is easier to keep around in the kitchen drawer without worrying about it.
It has a little blade that pops out, and a safety button to stop it from popping out unexpectedly. It even has a flip out screwdriver for opening battery compartments of children's toys (I guess they make them like that so they can't eat the batteries).
The best feature, however, is the wire cutter at the front. It is offset, so it easily slips behind the toy and cut the wires that bind them to the packaging. It can also cut through the seemingly impervious plastic bubble packs everything seems to be in these days. And, when finished, the handles lock shut for easy storage. Brightly colored so it won't get easily lost, too.
If you have a child waiting not so patiently for you to get the Barbie out of the pack, you'll really appreciate having this around.

I received this a couple weeks ago and try to use it every day, but I do find that I tend to grab the folding utility knife and scissors instead of this cute looking tool. The designers intended to create a catchy tool and I guess if you use this for opening packages and nothing else, it should last for a couple years, maybe more. I personally have a little difficulty opening the little latch which allows me to even use this item, hence I grab my other more solid and trustworthy tools. The silicony feel to the handle is pleasant, but it also seems rather lightweight. I don't trust the little extendable blade because it's not comfortable at the end of this, and the screwdriver has not worked for me the one time I needed, so I can't give those high marks. Since this is marked as a "Universal Package Opener," they wanted to include as many options as possible, but I must ask what package needs a little screwdriver? On the positive, I would imagine that if a person with arthritic hands is able to open the little clasp or simply always leaves this tool in open and ready to use form, it probably is more comfortable than scissors to use and likely will be greatly appreciated.Customer Review: Zibra ZPCOPEN

I stumbled across this little baby while looking for something else. Amazon had added one of their, "people who looked at this also bought this" links. It caught my eye as it referenced those horrid blister packs eveything comes in nowadays. My language has become bluer over the past few years as this packaging became the norm.
Since it guaranteed that it would open anything, I figured what the heck, I'm willing to chance ten bucks if it solves all my problems
The price was very low, so my expectations weren't all that high. I got a bad feeling as it arrived in its own blister pack. However, this one was easy to open. I took the tool in hand and attacked a couple of recent discount store purchases. Like a dream! No plastic has stood up to the tough little jaws. This is a winner!

I order a lot of stuff and got this in the hopes it would help with packaging. So far it has been very little use. The main reason is that when it comes to opening boxes, I still prefer my box cutter over the box cutter in this. For this, you need to remove the safety cap, and then slide it out. But unlike my other box cutter, you have to keep holding the switch to keep the box cutter out, which is a bit annoying. Also, it has a smaller blade for box cutter, which hasn't been a huge problem cut could be for some things.
Besides the box cutter, I haven't needed to use screwdriver in it. I also have only needed the scissor part of it for cutting some of those little plastic I things, but nothing besides that. Still, I can't wait to see how well it works on that annoying hard plastic.
Overall, it is nice and probably worth having for opening plastic alone, but a pair of Scissors and a Box Cutter will probably work just as good. And it's box cutter isn't the best so I'd still get a normal box cutter.
