Tools and Hardware Reviews of Zibra ZPCOPEN-OR Open It Universal Package Opener

Customer Review: Great for opening annoying packages
Summary: 4 Stars

This Zibra is great for opening up those clam shell packages or any sort of high resistance material. The downside is that the little screwdriver head always falls out of mine.

This is my go to tool when I have to open up a box (razor blade attachment works) or a plastic shell package (angled scissors) or lastly if I need to open up a game or movie (razor blade attachment).

The lock on the Zibra holds very strong and doesn't look to fail anytime soon. Solidly built except for the fact that the screwdriver bit included seems a hair too skinny as it's falling out after you open a few packages.

I definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a better solution to opening packages than using traditional scissors.

Customer Review: WOW!! Finally...a package opener that actually works!
Summary: 5 Stars

I ordered this after reading reviews on Amazon. I was still a bit skeptical, but was excited to try it nonetheless.

I conveniently had several plastic clamshell packaged items that I had purchased, but had been too frustrated to try to open to test the tool on.

I was thrilled with the results! It quickly and efficiently clipped off the edge of the packages, leaving the contents--including the printed materials insdie--100% intact. I left all of the items in their packages to show my husband when he got home. He was mildly impressed (tough crowd). I, however, am a lifetime fan and will be buying several for Christmas gifts.

Also...mine came black instead of the advertised orange. I consider this a bonus. :)

Customer Review: A must have for everyone!
Summary: 5 Stars

I'm so excited over my Open It. I have (many times) attempted to open those awful plastic packages w/ scissors or a knife, and while struggling to rip them open, cut myself on the hard sharp plastic or cardboard. The cutters on this tool cut right through the plastic and the cardboard and saves me from tearing up my skin on jagged edges.

The additional tools like the mini Philips are great for surprises like that battery cover that is held on by a small screw. And the auto retracting razor knife opens taped boxes with ease.

Open It is a must-have for every basic household toolkit, desk drawer, mail center and it will be a lifesaver during holiday and birthday gift opening!

Customer Review: Great item for kitchen "junk" drawer.
Summary: 4 Stars

Until I bought this item I was using a sheet metal scissors to open the bullet proof bubble packs. It worked fine but took up a lot of space. The Zibra unit has a notable advantage over sheet metal scissors in that the cutting edges are off set which makes it easier to use. The built in cutter takes care of packaging tape. An unheralded feature is the small Phillips screwdriver which takes care of the small screw which is showing up more often on the battery compartment door of many items including children's toys. It includes a lock which keeps the handles closed and there bye requires less space to store.I see the market getting crowded with "opening" devices but I see no need to go beyond this one.

Customer Review: "Open me First" gadget
Summary: 3 Stars

This seemed like something every household should have, so I bought several - one for my own household, and gifts for others. The thing has something for every one of those annoying tricks used to package things... it will definitely be used. Sturdy scissors for plastic and straps, a sharp knife, and screwdriver (both flat and phillips-head)are contained in one unit and the knife and screwdriver fold back for safety when not in use. A lock keeps the handles together when not in use. However, the manufacturers had a bizarre sense of humor when they packaged it... it came in one of those sealed plastic shells that (almost) defied opening.
