Tools and Hardware Reviews of dbest 00-011 Quik Cart Two-Wheeled Collapsible Handcart with LidCustomer Review: Great Product Concept, but Problematic Handle Summary: 4 Stars
Having just had total hip replacement surgery, I thought that the time had come to finally purchase a rolling crate, since I'd wanted one for a very long time. As a teacher, I especially wanted to be able to move library books and other supplies to and from my classroom, and the 80 lb. weight capacity was definitely a selling point.
When I began using my cart, I noticed that the telescoping handle didn't seem very substantial. The real problem came after a visit to the store when I attempted to lift the cart up about 4 in. from the yard to the sidewalk with a 40 lb. bag of birdseed loaded. Apparently, lifting straight up is not recommended, since the entire handle pulled out of the cart! The handle could not be reinserted, so the entire rolling convenience concept was defunct.
To the company's credit, I will say that Amazon.com has a tremendous customer service department and return policies, because my cart was replaced very quickly with no shipping fees. I plan to use Amazon again, as well as recommend this website to others.
Customer Review: Three Times Burned Summary: 1 Stars
I have used a hand cart like this for several years. It still works, but I decided to replace it with one that has a lid. I received the first one and the lid didn't fit both corners on the end away from the handle; the lid went on one corner or the other but not both. I decided to send it back and get another. The second one has the same problem. In the process, I discovered that I must pay the 10.00 shipping back for each cart when the problem is with the product and the seller. Another reviewer noted that the lid is not flexible enough to fit both top corners. I wrote to dBEST and got help with the lid. They sent a new one and it fits. Wishfully the problems stopped there. Read on.
UPDATE: After two weeks of gentle use, the button that allows handle to collapse and raise has malfunctioned. I CAN NO LONGER MAKE THE HANDLE RETRACT! THE RELEASE BUTTONS ARE MADE OF PLASTIC! I had a "Pack n Go" cart with metal release buttons. The handle on that cart still works. Wish: Make the carts in the US with quality control and metal parts.
Customer Review: Lacking in the Longevity Department Summary: 2 Stars
I got this cart about 1.5-2 years ago. The wheel has always rubbed a bit, but I just put up with it rather than do the return hassle. It's supposed to support up to 250 lbs., but I have my doubts. I use it primarily for trips to the library. I homeschool our kids and we check out loads of books a couple times a month. Yesterday the "hub cap" on one of the wheels broke and it cannot be fixed. The wheel no longer turns as a result. It has not been abused, dropped, slammed down or otherwise mistreated. We load books into it, and roll it up ramps to and from the parking lot to the building. I am disappointed that this cart didn't hold up longer than it did. I didn't want to be buying a new one so soon. If a cart is going to toot it's horn about handling 250 lbs., maybe the wheels should also be be able to handle that load as well (however, I didn't have 250 lbs. of books!)
Customer Review: NOT WORTH IT! Summary: 2 Stars
Well... I've have gone through two of these quick carts and both have broken. I will not buy another again. I just hope I can find something the same size. It's exactly what I need but they are truly a piece of junk! They have Cheap plastic and are not sturdy. This cart was used to haul my jewelry cases around. After only a week, pieces of plastic broke on the sides causing the bottom to fall out. I had my father in law make me a piece of wood to fit in the bottom. Worked well for awhile until the whole front piece of plastic broke off. I needed it so I bought another one. The second one I had to wire together after the plastic broke. The bottom also broke out of the second one...luckily I was able to use the wood in the bottom again. Used it that way for awhile until the same thing happened. Don't waste your money on this cart.
Customer Review: Quik Cart fits the bill Summary: 4 Stars
We have a staff of 6 nurses who travel to 10 different hospitals in our city. We spotted this and wanted to try it to cart our supplies around. We carry saline, gauze pads, medications, and the like. Our procedures can last as long as 3-4 hours, so the option to sit on the cart was appealing. after using the cart now for about a month, I can say the staff really like it. they find it easier to lift into their cars; it certainly holds enough supply for one day and the added bonus of a seat is the best. Somebody had a great idea when they designed this. If the seat was a bit sturdier I would give this rave reviews; as it is only outstanding!!
We will be looking to purchase more of these!dBest 01-300 Ultra Compact Quik Cart
