Tools and Hardware Reviews of DSI EZ Outlet Wireless Remote Wall Outlets (3 pack)Customer Review: Very good product Summary: 4 StarsVery good product. I tested one with a multimeter. They draw NO POWER of their own when plugged in. They are quiet when they activate due to there being no relay used to make the connection.
Too bad I'm limited to only three controllers, or I would have given 5 stars.
Customer Review: Very Convenient Summary: 5 StarsThis product was so easy to set up and use. It works exactly the way I need it to, and there hasn't been any part of it that has made me regret buying it. I've had it for over a year now, and I haven't even had to change the battery in the remote yet, and I use this thing every day over and over again. Now if you are trying to get something professional, than this probably isn't the way to go. I use it in my bedroom. Only for the reason that the remote is made of cheap plastic, but the plastic is sturdy, and while your using it, you don't notice anything about it feeling cheap. Overall, this is a great product, I would buy it 100 times, and it just makes life easier.
Customer Review: Great Idea, Poor Design. Summary: 3 StarsI bought this for my bedroom so I would be able to turn on/off my light on my dresser, desk, and hanging lamp. I was really happy to get it and try it out, but I ran into quite a few problems before I was able to use it and get it the way I wanted.
First of all, it didn't come with a battery, and the battery itself is an obscure type. (23A 12V)I had to go to 3 different stores before I found the correct size. It should have come with a battery if they were going to use such a strange type. Also the design could have been made more "power strip friendly." If you plug in 2 of them on one power strip, it takes up the entire space, so I had to rearrange where I plugged in my stuff to make it work. Also, I had to move my furniture at least another 2 inches away from the wall to make them fit into the power strip behind my desk. (Which was inconvenient for me since I live in an apartment with limited space and have carpet) So if you plan on plugging these into a power strip, you'll probably want to purchase these with it to fix this problem:

But once I got my room the way that I liked, I will say that it does make things easier and the concept is really neat, and its a lot of fun to use. It does exactly what its supposed to do with out any problems, so it gets an A for functionality. (The only reason I gave it a 3rd star) I do get a lot of pleasure out of using it, but for what it is, I didn't think it would require so much effort to "setup." In fact, I wasn't planing on a setup at all, and I wasn't planing on it being a hassle. I definitely wasn't planing on having to buy something else to make up for what its lacking. I wasn't expecting a strange battery and having to hunt one down. I wasn't expecting it to be so bulky and take up all the room on my power strip. And I wasn't expecting to have to rearrange my cords and move my furniture farther away from the wall. If the company did a better job designing a more streamlined product there wouldn't be these problems, but they should have figured that out long before they released it to the public. (I mean come on, all wall outlets are the same size and have been that way for years!) They should be able to figure out a way to make it without it being so bulky and blocking the rest of your outlets.
But if you don't plan on using it on a daily basis like me, like for Christmas lights or for lights for a hallway or something, I think it would still be useful to you and you would find it rather handy. Cause come on, remote controlled lights are pretty cool, and the concept is still a really good idea. Its just too bad the design made it, for me anyways, into such a hassle. I don't know what the clapper looks like, but you might want to check that out before you make your decision.
Customer Review: These are very convenient. Summary: 5 StarsI hooked up all of my Christmas decorations including my buffet servers to these and never had to crawl under the tree or tables.
Customer Review: Wireless outlet remote Summary: 5 StarsI got this product as a joke for my husband's Christmas stocking, and it turned out to be his favorite gift! I had seen a similar product advertised as a great solution for a Christmas tree; it allows you to turn the tree lights on without battling to get to the outlet. Well... you can use one remote with 3 different outlets, so we now have 3 separate light fixtures on this little remote. Each one is in a different part of the den and two in particular are difficult to reach. Now we turn on/off whichever light, or two or all three, effortlessly. We want more!! My husband now wants one for his office!
