Tools and Hardware Reviews of Neiko Super-Bright 9 LED Heavy-Duty Compact Aluminum Flashlight - Gunmetal Silver

Customer Review: Caution on included batteries
Summary: 4 Stars

I purchased six of these flashlights in July, 2008. I first noticed that the light was 'somewhat' dim but, not having too much experience with LED flashlights, I accepted this as 'normal'. I had the occasional reported problem with not lighting and having to shake the light or unscrew/re-screw the base to get it to work. Recently I decided to change the batteries (to a "brand name" battery) in all the units and what a surprise......all the lights were MUCH brighter than with the original batteries , except one, and the exception was that the acid had leaked from the batteries and ruined the contacts. My bottom line: all the 9-LED lights offered by different manufactures are probably the same, but the batteries make the difference. If you get these, throw away the included batteries and put three name brand ones in and be happy with your purchase.

Customer Review: Cheep, bright, works... what more is there?

I was alittle afraid I was getting what I paid for with these flashlights before they showed up. At about $3.50 ea (I got 2). I was half expecting a peice of junk. I was wrong.

Its not the brightest flash light you'll ever own, but at about 3 inches long, its not ment to be used as a spot light, it's ment to light up a small-med sized area, and it does that job perfectly.

Made of metal, LED lights last forever, the back click button for on/off didn't feel like it was gonna go out on me anytime soo So overall I feel like this little guy can get tossed around a bit in my glove box until I need it.

For $3.50 - its a great little buy if you need a small little emergency flashlight for a glove box, tool box ect. I was very happy with how bright, it was, and how sturdy it felt.

I DO recomend this

Customer Review: Noway! Never again!!!

This item is a real piece of C%$P... Well you know. It's a bad product. I bought three of them and the first thing was the little black strap was not on it. I tried to attach it. Forget it. Not worth the trouble. Next, I went to put one in the kitchen and it fell apart. I mean I didn't even drop it, it just sprang apart. The front popped right off. I've seen this same item in the local store for $1.99 Come on now! For the price I paid I could have gotten one OK flashlight. Now I own three really cheap ones. I would put a few drops of supper glue on the front lens edges to keep it in place. That is most likely where others are getting the flickering from, and was the reason it fell apart. The front lens popped right out. I would worn others to stay clear of this item. You could do MUCH better!!!

Customer Review: Poor build quality, nice light for the price.

Bought 3 of these flashlights in different colors. One of the units, the cool blue one, first started showing intermittent lighting, then died. After pushing on the glass face of the flashlight, the light came back on, but soon went away. After a few more tries pushing on the glass face, the light came back on, hopefully to stay. To ensure that it stays operational, I've added superglue to make sure the glass does not shift out the millimeter or two that seems to kill the flashlight. Still decided to give it 4 stars because for the price it does give out decent light to use on camping trips, and battery life has been good though I have not timed it. Also, to be fair, it did take some abuse from my son, and I don't really expect a low priced flashlight to handle too much abuse.
