Customer Review: My new friend "Scooter"
Summary: 5 Stars

This guy picks up an AMAZING amount of pet hair and debris. The dogs frequently bring in hickory nuts and chew them up to get the meat out. The shells stay on the floor. The shells, along with bits of bone and chewies, not to mention a housemate that can't pick up after himself don't daunt this little guy in the least. I also take Scooter to one of my client's home where he picks up stuff that would quickly kill a vacuum (cigarette butts, food, general litter) so I can get other things done without first having to use a broom before vacuuming.

Yes there are items that choke Scooter. Other reviewers have talked about throw rugs, strings and loose clothing. I'll add to that list flimsy ornament hooks that wrap around the brushes and candy canes. In Scooter's defense it took five of the hooks to stop him and the candy cane was picked up, it just couldn't make it to the bin.

All in all I'm VERY pleased. I will say that he doesn't seem so impressive if you watch, but leave the room and let him do his own thing till he quits and you'll be pleased too. I believe that a virtual wall would be a good investment if you don't have an easy means to keep your Dirt Dog where you want it. It does a pretty thorough job on one or two rooms in an open floor plan but with too much space to roam freely I believe the battery would wear down before everything was done.

Customer Review: Love it
Summary: 5 Stars

I love this product! It's not as good as your regular vacuum, but it is perfect for all the time usage. We have 2 dogs and a cat. I use this at least once a week. It's amazing all the hair it gets after only a day or two! It goes under big shelves, and our couch! - Places we don't vacuum that often. It is noisy, but I put this on before I go out, or while I'm in another room. You really just charge, and press the clean button! The dust pan is not real big. But for me, running the dirt dog once a week is fine. - If I don't vacuum for a while, the pan will fill up and not collect the dirt. I still love emptying the dust pan and seeing how much it picks up. There is a light to tell you how much charge is left. The light changes as it runs. I can do my kitchen, living room and dining room on one charge. Also, you can buy a 'virtual wall' to prevent the dirt dog from going into places you don't want it to go. - I just use a basket or lay a chair on it's side to block it from going where I don't want it to - cheaper than the lasers. All in all - I love this product. If I was Oprah, I'd put it on my favorite things and give one to everyone!
UPDATE - 2 and a half years later it's still working great! I don't use it all the time, but at least once a month. It doesn't replace a regular vacuum but is still very handy, and still works well.

Customer Review: IT IS WONDERFUL!
Summary: 5 Stars

I highly recommend this machine. There are two dogs and one very furry himalayan cat in this household. There are hardwood floor throughout our home with throw rugs. The fur that accumulates in one day is mind boggling. Robbie (my machine's name) does a wonderful job of picking up all the hair. Cleaning up in front of the fireplace is another job I have turned over to Robbie. Robbie is taken out into the workshop to clean up sawdust and he does an excellent job out there. I am no longer plagued with having to mop up hair every morning and think it was foolish to live without the convenience of Robbie before. Both dogs and the cat accepted Robbie almost immediately. Robbie does not like to do the throw rugs as he slows down quite a bit so I just lift the corners of each rug before putting Robbie down and he moves merrily along sweeping up the dust and hair. The cliff sensor is a feature I find intriguing. It keeps my Robbie from going down the stairs into the basement or falling off the stair into the laundry room. The job he does is quite thorough as he goes around each chair leg and whisks up any accumulated hair, dust or dirt which I found to be annoyance when I cleaned by hand. He is no noisier than if you were using the mixer on your kitchen counter. I am very pleased and if he should break (knock on wood), I would definitely replace.

Customer Review: A Great Time-Saver!
Summary: 5 Stars

The floor in my office is rough exposed-aggregate concrete, comprised of a pebbly uneven surface that traps sand, crumbs, and other fine debris and is almost impossible to clean with a standard upright vacuum. I also have a golden retriever that sheds constantly. I had finally resorted to using a bulky shopvac to clean this floor, which was a hassle and took up a lot of storage space in the closet.

I thought I would give the Dirt Dog a try, though I was skeptical that it would be able to clean such a rough and irregular surface. After I charged it up, I turned it loose on the floor and watched it go to work. To my surprise, it not only was able to handle the rough surface but it did a fantastic job of cleaning. When it did encounter an especially bumpy section of the floor, it would stop, back up an inch or so, turn a few degrees, and take another run at it. Most often it only took one extra try to get over any extra bumpy spot on the floor.

After about an hour, I shut it off and flipped it over to clean it. The dust bin was full of dog hair, paper clips, plastic bread wrapper clips, push pins, and pieces of dog kibble. The bin was easy to empty and the brush was also easy to pop out and remove the dog hair that had wrapped around it.

The floor looks great and I'm really satisfied with this purchase!

Customer Review: Great Robot! Cleans Wonderfully!
Summary: 5 Stars

This little robot is wonderful for tile and linoleum floors! We have cats and dogs and are always fighting the build up of hairs. The hairs always seem everywhere. This product took care of that problem pronto! We run it about every 2 days and it picks up all the hairs, sweeping under the legs on tables and chairs with its rotating brush and picks up everything! It's just great!

Have you ever wondered where those dust bunnies under your bed come from? Wonder no more! This robot will get all of them by just going right under your beds and sweeping them all up!

I wish I had known about this long ago because I am really pleased. The robot lets you know when it is running out of power and since we bought the recharger station, he goes back to his little house to be recharged. (Did you notice I said he? He is a dirt dog!) I would recommend this to anyone with uncarpeted floors as a way to pick up all that dust, dirt, hair, and anything else you might have around your house.

It's very easy to clean after using it and only takes me about 5-8 minutes to empty the collected material and clean the rollers about every 2 times we run it. There is even a tool to cut any hairs or strings that get wound around the rollers. It's a wonderful product!

Now I wish they made a robot for cleaning the furniture!
