Customer Review: A great little helper
Summary: 4 Stars

I have owned my Dirt Dog for a couple of months now, and just thought that I would share a quick review.

This thing cleans very well. All it does is brush the floor, but I have a great dane, miniature schnauzer, and cocker spaniel, so I need all the help I can get.

My floor by the back door is tile, and I let this guy brush it daily to pick up the grass the dogs track in. It does this job wonderfully. I also use it to sweep up the kitchen and dining room tile, and it picks up whatever mess is there better than I can do sweeping. The biggest help this little guy provides is cleaning my extra bathroom. My roommate is asian, and she has long, thick black hair, and it gathers in the corners of the bathroom quick. This guy has no problem running through there and picking it up for me. It also does what it is supposed to do, clean the garage, very well. I have a couch in my garage and I was shocked at how much stuff was under it when this guy was through. It does its job VERY well.

The only problem I have is that it is loud. I mean, louder than my Dyson, and it doesn't even have a vacuum. Maybe mine is the exception, but I can't even turn it on while I'm trying to sleep. I just use it while I'm not watching tv or anything, or when I run to the store. But it's still something to think about.

Customer Review: Woof! Dirt Dog rules.
Summary: 4 Stars

Ah, dust free floors. I am barefoot eversince the day I opened the box of this beauty and let me tell you, walking on a "maid serviced clean" floor EVERY DAY is ... like being in a hotel room (a clean hotel room).
A little bit loud (louder than my iRobot vacuum), but does a very very good job. Thorough and persistent.
The brushes even "scrub" the tiles on my patio as DirtDog covers every spot 3-4-5 times, not just collecting the leaves and other debris.
It does a surprisingly good job inside too. The brushes reach deep into the fibers of the carpet and collect all hair and dust. Even without vacuum action. Sometimes I let them both running and it is amazing how much dust, hair, crumbs, whatnot they collect ON A DAILY BASIS.
The one thing I keep telling everyone is that my life has changed since I have these robots. Seriously.
I am no longer anxious that I HAVE to get up and clean when I really just want to sit down and have a breather or watch a movie or just enjoy that the kids are asleep.
House is clean inside and out and I am happy to leave the door open for the kids to run in and out and I don't worry about it any more that they just bring the dirt inside.
It is AWESOME!
The only thing is : WHY DIDN'T I GET IT AGES AGO???

Customer Review: You vaccuum and don't own atleast one dirt dog, you're just, umm, dumb. hahaha.
Summary: 5 Stars

Seriously though, we own a dirt dog from Irobot. and this little babby gets up our little dogs tremendous amount of hair that not even our huge wall unit shop vac picks up.

if you own pets get it.. you're missing hair.. we've yet to really find any material except extreme shaggg carpet that this thing will not go over nor crap it will pick up.

if only they could devolop this model in a lighter plastic material and increase it's power and ability to go over shag carpet this thing could do it all i think.

i mean besides beeing a little slower this thing still picks up dog hair that our shop vac unit doesnt that says a lot for a 100 vaccuum

downfalls -

slow.
will most always unjam itself or alert you. we're not 100% robot creator perfect yet.
will go over most floor materials. very few that it can't
obviously can't clear certain areas because of it's radius(again the 100% us beeing able to create perfect robots yet isnt here yet)

other than that it rocks.. the price rocks.. this thing has taking a beating maintaine it and we've had ours for atleast a year and still cleaning like a champ.

you're dump if you don't atleast try one.

Customer Review: Simply did not work properly
Summary: 1 Stars

I bought the Dirt Dog to help keep my hardwood floors clean of cat hair, cat litter, and dust. I chose the Dirt Dog over the regular Roombas because it was less expensive and because of all the rave reviews it received on Amazon.com. I was so unhappy with the Dirt Dog's performance that I sent it back the week after I received it.

It simply did not do what it was supposed to do. The battery life was relatively short and the charge ran out long before my small living room floor was clean. Despite repeated passes over the area, it picked up only about half of the cat hair, litter, etc. It was not a case of the bin being too full because it didn't work well even when the bin was completely empty. There were other annoyances -- it's really noisy and it crashes into things like wood furniture hard enough to leave a little dent. The main complaint, however, was that at best it picked up half of the dirt and hair.

Amazon customer service was very helpful in processing the return. I now have a Roomba 560 and am much happier with it -- the vacuum works great, it's a little quieter, and it has sensors that slow it down a little when it nears a wall or piece of furniture. My advice is to pay a little more and get a real Roomba.

Customer Review: My new best friend in the shop
Summary: 5 Stars

I am very impressed with the capability of this Roomba to pick up all the wood chips, screws and other things that fall on the floor while doing projects in my shop. I do a lot of wood working and after some projects there is a good amount of sawdust on the floor. the dirt dog does a great job of getting all of it. The pattern seems very random but it does get to all areas of the shop and storage area, including the around the catbox that is in one corner. I went ahead and got the schedular pack with invisible walls and have it going once every other day. very nice to be able to walk into the shop with a clean floor with no litter tracking from the cat box left on the floor. You can also trigger it for cleaning anytime. I have been very happy with this device, one thing to keep in mind is that loose cords across the floor do cause it to hang up so keeping those up off the floor will prevent any issues. other than that it can deal with about anything in the shop. Highly recommend the dirt dog for shops, remember that there is no vacuum so this would not be the one for carpeted areas. One last note it will pack the dust bin full so be sure to empty it after a heavy cleaning so it will have room for future work.
