Tools and Hardware Reviews of iRobot 12101 Looj Electric Gutter Cleaning Robot

Customer Review: Looj handles a messy job better than I do on my own
Summary: 4 Stars

So I have read the mix of good and bad reviews and was inspired to add a perspective and some hints. First the perspective: my gutters are cleaner after the looj than after I do them by hand so score one for the looj! Second some hints:
- there is a little loop on the back of the looj...tie a long piece of string to it so you can tug the looj back a little when it gets stuck or rides up on gunk
- try alternating auger rotation directions to break up the crud in the gutter
- remember that string I mentioned? tie a loop of it around the antenna so you can wiggle that if it gets stuck on something (my gutters are only just barely big enough for the looj so this happens to me a lot.

Customer Review: Awesom tool
Summary: 5 Stars

I recently moved into a home with a very high side, located in a pine grove. The gutters have been a major issue because of this high side. This machine works great. I read other reviews and someone recommend tying a string on the end just in case it gets stuck. I did that but the machine never got stuck, it just worked its way down the gutter moving everything out of its way. No problems what so ever. The battery is different than most cordless tools of today but was no problem at all. Charged overnight and had plenty of power to do the hole house with a bunch of test runs just to watch it go.
This machine is an absolute life saver I love

Customer Review: Future gutter cleaning
Summary: 3 Stars

This item was purchased for my annual spring and fall gutter cleaning. Since it is winter in Chicago, my gutters are full of ice, snow and the leaves I failed to clean last fall. I look forward to trying it out soon.

Assembly was easy, and I charged up the battery to make sure it worked. It seems to be a sturdy little gadget that should be up to the task. I really like the remote and reverse options.

Sorry this review is not more results oriented, so if anyone wants a real review, tell Mother Nature to give me a break and let me try it out, and then I will tell it like it is.

Customer Review: Don't ignore the entertainment factor
Summary: 4 Stars

Yes, the battery technology is old and dumb, yes, it does get stuck occasionally, but you know, it does fling debris out of your gutters. I have surf pine needles and birch leaves and my gutters are now cleanish. It doesn't get the little gravel in the corners that washes off your composition shingles but leaves, mud and needles fly. Move you cars and wear eye protection, crap flies everwhere. And don't run it anywhere you can't reach by ladder. But the sight of the thing going whacketa-whacketa-whacketa down your gutters is VERY entertaining. And it will confuse your cats--that's worth something. [...]

Customer Review: Great first run, then it died -- customer support is zero!
Summary: 2 Stars

After full charge, I cleaned most of my gutters (about 80 feet)before retiring for the night. I recharged the battery.

Next day, I put in the battery. No response.

The light on the robot is green.
The light on the remote is green, and blinks when sending info.

The robot doesn't respond.

iRobot suggests I recharge everything and change batteries. Still doesn't work, and iRobot no longer responds to my queries for help.

I own three iRobots, but this is the first time I've tried customer service. It is non existent.
