Tools and Hardware Reviews of iRobot Advanced Power System Ni-MH Battery, 3000 mAh, 17373

Customer Review: Great while it works
Summary: 2 Stars

When I bought this a little over a year ago, here on Amazon, it worked great. My previous battery had died and the reset procedure wasn't working on it. So, I ordered this one and was very pleased with the initial performance. However, after almost exactly one year, I am looking at replacing the battery yet again. I have done the reset procedure and still this battery is dead. It will charge then run for about two to five minutes. I really love the roomba, but hate all the maintenance and costly upkeep associated with the product. So, just plan on buying one of these every year as long as you own and use your roomba.

Customer Review: A new battery for Rosie
Summary: 4 Stars

Kudos for reviewer Thomas E.Hubson who shared how to kept up the maintence on both the roomba and the battery. If the product failed it will be most likely because the purchaser did not read or follow instructions provided by the manufacturer.
I started on my second battery after owning my roomba for almost two years.
I give it a 4 rating only because I believe it is too expensive. I think I can buy a small car battery for the same price.

P.S. oh, Rosie, by the way, is the name I give my roomba. She is named after the Jetson's robot maid. Those my age (50ish) will get the connection.

Customer Review: 3 Cleanings then DEAD DEAD DEAD
Summary: 1 Stars

My Roomba went dead after about 18 months so I got the $50 battery. Wonderful. Full power. I ran the Roomba once, twice and then a third time in as many weeks. I went to use it a fourth time a week later but it was dead. I can't get the Roomba to show any lights, no charge, nothing. I've tried plugging directly into the charger, using the docking station, and even using the reset protocol and as a last resort. Nothing. I'm really not sure its the batteries fault the Roomba is sucking the life from it. But if you buy the battery, you may find you are throwing good money after bad.

Customer Review: Manufacturer Unknown
Summary: 4 Stars

In addition to the original iRobot replacement Roomba battery (OEM), several after market/generics were available for less money. This item had no name in the description except iRobot, so it appeared to be an OEM for much less money than sold elsewhere. I contacted Amazon, and their representative indicated the battery appeared to be made by iRobot, so I ordered it. I did not find a company name anywhere on it, so I doubt it was made by iRobot...I don't know who made it. It works fine, but I paid a little more for it than I could have paid for another generic.

Customer Review: iRobot Roomba battery life is too short and battery replacement is too expensive
Summary: 2 Stars

I have 2 iRobot Roombas and I have replaced the batteries 4 times over the last 3 years. The Advanced Power System battery only lasts 30-45 minutes of continous usage per fully charged instead of the advertised of 1-2 hours. The same battery has a life of less than 1 year based on our experiences on those 4 battery replacements. The replacements costed us [...] + shipping per battery. It has becoming too expensive to keep these babies. As much as I love these roombas, they got to go to my donation box for someone else to enjoy ...
