Mine lasted 1 yr before the battery-operated lid mechanism broke, literally broke. This company offers nothing more than sympathy and an upsell to purchase a replacement lid at half the cost of the original product. Sad.... it was such a good idea. What a disappointment. Although the automatic lid worked fine initially, it stopped working a few months after the purchase. The replacement lid is almost as much as the purchase price. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PRODUCT!!!!
