No need to touch the lid or pedal of this trash can. Sensor is at the right place to open the lid automatically when you are approaching to throw trash. No false opening. The black color hides fingerprints and dirts. Thick steel construction looks like it can last for a long time. Large opening can fit a medium pizza box.
It comes with a plastic retainer ring that secures and hides the trash bag inside the trashcan. It is easy to change bags with the retainer ring. I'm using 18 gallon trash bag I got from Costco it fits perfectly. I also purchased the AC adaptor which saves me lots of battery costs. Every family should have one of this. This is the second one I own. I gave my first round stainless steel one to my parents.

I received the itouchess automatic black nx/sx model trashcan. I really liked the color and design. It worked fine with batteries for two days. It does make a noise as some reviews indicated but I could live with it even if my dog couldn't. I read the reviews but ignored the negative ones and ordered this trash can anyway. On the third day, it would not open except manually. I waited for the adapter thinking it would now work touchless but it will not. It slides back and then will not close. You have to manually work with the lid until you can get it closed. I am not going to return it, will just use it manually for a while until time to get a new trashcan. Very disapointed with this product, really wanted it to work.

I put a set of batteries in it, planning to buy an adaptor for it later when they died. I have a tendency to open the can over and over while cooking, so it probably gets used 15 times a day on average, and the batteries are still going strong after 6 months or so. I may not bother getting a cord.
The negative, though, is that there is an internal rim at the top of the can that is smaller than the can itself. This makes pulling a full trash can through it nearly impossible. I unscrewed it and just pull the whole thing off every time, but that wasn't an ideal solution.
Overall it's not bad, but the rim is rather annoying on trash day.

This is a wonderful addition to my brand new kitchen--I put in granite counters, a new floor, and this trash can is the cherry on top. The functions all work perfectly. I love that I can just wave my hand over the top and have the auto close feature when I have the messy packaging from fresh chicken, knowing that I am not going to get sick later from the bacteria mess. There is also a button option to open that holds it open until I push the close button that provides more time. I suggest you order the cord with plug as the battery option is wasteful and isnt nearly as reliable as A/C. My guests have been very impressed--and all want one too.Customer Review: Can't get the full sack out of the can, it RIPS! Very poor design!!

Flimsy design too. Side walls are flimsy. Black is nice for finger prints, but WOW, you can not get the full garbage sack out of this can. You can pull, yank and pull some more and it will come out while ripping and tearing the best Glad bags you can buy. The inner lip tears the bags and prevents them from coming out with ease.
Poor Design and made flimsy with the material. The opening is pretty small. Barely fits a one gallon milk jug if you squish it up first. So be aware of this stuff BEFORE you buy it.
The black is nice for finger prints. Price is good compared to stainless.
