I read other reviews before purchasing this product that said the lift mechanism was too weak to last. So far it works great and I see no reason to believe that it won't last. I use it in the kitchen where my hands are often messy or full of food scraps. Just move in front of the lid and presto, it opens. I love it! Fantastic for kitchens and I plan to order one for our master bath as well. Highly recommended.Customer Review: Another must have

I bought his automatic trashcan to replace my old one. It is great!! I cook alot. Having a trash can that is automatic and hands free while cooking is great. If you cook alot this is the trashcan for you!
