Customer Review: Works OK, very poorly packaged

The unit works pretty well, and the sensor is much better than the old models. They used to open just by walking by, but they've eliminated that problem.
But... the packaging was horrible. It came with a big dent in the side, and a huge sticker with the features on the front. That sticker does not come off, it just tears into little strips, even with goo-gone... and of course, you can't scrape it off of stainless steel. So, I've returned the item. Whoever thought that sticker was a good idea should be fired!

This is a pretty good automatic trash can. However there could be some improvements to make it better. First, it is difficult to take the full trash bag out. The top plastic rim has a sharp edge and hooks that block and easily break the trash bag taken out. Second, sometime when I was dump the trash, the lid closes. I believe the sensor only has a narrow angle of detection. Third, the slider lid has bigger noise than the swing lid. All the above are not big problems. The fully iTouchless Fully automatic trashcan is a great kitchen or garage helper to get rid of TRASH. The can gas a good sized receptical and can be lined with two sized trash bags. The inner ring holds either bag in place and does not allow slippage. The sliding door is a great idea and is quiet and will operate either on batteries or an AC adapter. This a a very nice looking product.
I highly recommend this item.

I purchased this trash can in March with high hopes. I have a family of 5 and so trash is taken out basically every other day, and with this trash can it is a 2 person job to do. The lip that is on it has teeth that grabs the trash that pokes out, which in turn lets the bag rip if you pull too hard. My last touchless can was never a problem at all. I would never buy this can again, the aggravation is just not worth it. :(Customer Review: Great!

I've never owned one with pivot lid so cannot compare, but this is so much nicer than step can. If the lid seems to be moving slowly make sure you're using high quality batteries, the off brand batteries I used at first caused lid to be sluggish. You can use regualar 13 gallon trash bags with this can, (opening of bag is folded around ring at top of can)they just won't reach the bottom. I am very satisfied with this item.
