Tools and Hardware Reviews of Interdesign Over The Cabinet Towel BarCustomer Review: Handy and somewhat versatile. Summary: 4 Stars
I purchased this thinking I would use it in my kitchen to hold a towel near my sink.
Right now I keep a towel on the oven door handle, but have no towel bars to hang towels near the sink.
I tried it on the cabinet door beneath the sink and it kept the door from closing properly.
I tried it on a drawer near the sink, but the knob was in the way.
After two unsuccessful attempts to find a home for the towel bar, I went to my laundry room.
We have one of those tall wire racks that stands above the washer and dryer.
I had been clipping a hand towel to the rack with a clothespin for drying hands.
This towel rack was easily hung from the wire rack (shelves) and provides space to hang the hand towel.
Even though it didn't work for my intended purpose, it now provides a valuable service and looks much better than the clothespin hung towel.
People with newer cabinets probably wouldn't have the problem I had with it. Our home is older and the cabinets haven't been updated.
My sister inlaw had a similar rack on her bathroom vanity cabinet.
Customer Review: High-quality item Summary: 4 Stars
This is a nicely made, well-finished towel bar, at a good price. It is attractive and looks good in my kitchen, and has a rubber pad inside the hook portion to protect the front cabinet surface. I no longer have to tuck towels into a drawer (they are always falling out) or leave them on the counter, and I didn't have to drill holes in my nice cabinets. The 9" length is perfect for cabinet doors or wide drawers, but is harder to use with narrower drawers, so I recommend you take a ruler and measure where you want to put it before you order. But I wish I had found these years ago--they work very well and solve my towel problem. I bought two, and now think I may order two more.
For people who have a loose fit, go to the hardware store and buy some stick-on foam tape. Put it on the inside of the hook, and it should solve the problem.
Customer Review: Where have you been all my life! Summary: 5 Stars
I stumbled accross this item by accident. It's great!. I could have used one of these years ago. The finish looks nice and it fits nicely over my cabinet drawer/door. It does not protrude too much which makes it a convinient item to have on any cabinet. It's the perfect size for a hand towel/kitchen towel. I can now hang my hand towel on the cabinet by the sink (where I need it) vs. having a towel hanging off the stove or refrig handle.
Although there is some padding on the item to help prevent damage to cabinets, the padding was only on one side of the item (the front side). I added some additional padding (felt strip) to make sure that my cabinets were fully protected on both sides.
This item is both handy and stylish
Customer Review: A Simple, But Great Idea! Summary: 5 Stars
This little metal bar--with "hooks" that go over the top of a cabinet door--provides a great way to display pretty and/or coordinated kitchen items, like pot holders, towels, oven mitts, etc. I very recently was staging an average sized kitchen for some photos, and found that I didn't have JUST the right place for the cute (and useful) accessories I had gotten from--Ssh!-Crate and Barrel. That's when I browsed on Amazon's department for this type of thing, and Bingo(!), this simple and inexpensive device did exactly what I needed! My happy snowman towels and his kitchen cousins have found the perfect home.
Customer Review: Great idea Could have been made better Summary: 2 Stars
The width of the hooks is 1 inch I think. After I bent them slightly the new width was 1 inch and 1/8 of an inch it still does not fit my cabinets,it will sit on them but as soon as any weight is applied or shaking(closing the door)it falls off I will admit that the molding on the edges of my cabinets is curved making the fit difficult however if the products hooks were 5/32's of an inch wider it would fit perfectly.
So why not make them wider?
